MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Laura Ingraham acknowledged a potentially unfavorable development for Donald Trump in his ongoing hush money trial, as reported by viewers who watched her Fox News segment on Monday, April 15.

She discussed the trial's first day, focusing on the claims regarding Trump falsifying business records to conceal payments made to silence Stormy Daniels regarding their alleged affair before the 2016 presidential election.

Ingraham attempted to undermine the credibility of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Judge Juan Merchan, and star witness Michael Cohen, a former Trump attorney.

However, she seemed to make a concession about the former president, who has consistently denied having any involvement with Daniels.

"Stormy Daniels thought she had leverage over Trump back in 2016 and she used that leverage to extract some money," stated Ingraham, adding, "And like other politicians who had made embarrassing mistakes, Donald Trump was apparently trying to get that episode behind him."

Trump’s hush money trial, the first criminal prosecution of a former US president, commenced on Monday with jury selection. 10 potential jurors underwent questioning after numerous others were excused for impartiality concerns, as reported by The Washington Post

The initial part of the court proceedings focused on various matters, including discussions regarding the evidence that jurors will be presented. Selecting 12 jurors and several alternates may take a week or longer.

Netizens react to Laura Ingraham's remarks on Trump's affair allegations

One said, "Wait, is Ingraham admitting that Trump had the affair? Because Trump certainly hasn't admitted that".

"So wait, Laura Ingraham is basically saying, 'Who among us hasn't paid off someone we were having an affair with so we can move on and get elected President?' The amount of knots that conservative commentators tie themselves into to defend Donald Trump remains breathtaking," expressed another.

A person asked, "Oh Fox is acknowledging the rendezvous is real now?" while someone else noted, "Ya, and that was a crime."

"Laura Ingraham is going through some things today. The cope is strong," stated an individual.
