WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Vice President Kamala Harris touted herself as a worthy opponent to former president Donald Trump since becoming the frontrunner for the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden's exit from the 2024 race.

Speaking to Biden's former campaign staff in Wilmington, Delaware, on Monday, July 22, the newly anointed White House hopeful said she was aware of "Trump's type" from her experience as a prosecutor where she faced "predators" and "fraudsters."

After nearly a month of disarray following a poor debate performance, the 81-year-old incumbent announced his decision to withdraw from the reelection race on July 21 through a statement on social media. Shortly after, he endorsed Harris for the presidential bid.

"Before I was elected as vice president, before I was elected as United States senator, I was the elected attorney general, as I've mentioned, of California, and before that, I was a courtroom prosecutor," Harris noted, adding, "In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds."

Likening her potential opponent, Trump, to the criminals she came across at the time, Harris continued, "Predators who abused women. Fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own game. So hear me when I say I know Donald Trump's type!"

She also recalled her prosecutor experience in the Alameda County District Attorney's office in California, where she specialized in sexual abuse cases, as per OK Magazine. The VP referred to writer E Jean Carroll, highlighting that the former president was found liable by a jury for committing sexual abuse.

Nevertheless, she emphasized her presidential campaign was more than criticizing the Republican nominee's flaws; instead, it was "Two different visions for the future of our country. One focused on the future — the other focused on the past."

This is not the first time Harris unleashed an attack against Trump. After his New York hush money conviction in May, the vice president called out the real estate mogul's frequent claim of the case being "rigged." She asserted he felt so because "cheaters don't like getting caught."

Internet divided over Kamala Harris's remarks on her experience with 'Trump type' people

Netizens held opposing opinions while responding to Harris' remark about knowing the type of people like Trump. While one side praised her 'savage' attack, another group said her prosecutor experience would do no good in the presidential race.

One user labeled her remarks "Savage."

"Trump is outclassed and outwitted when it comes to Kamala Harris, he will never debate her," another remarked.

"She knows she’s losing," added a user.

"A poor prosecutor. A poor senator. A poor AG. A poor VP," read one response mocking Harris.

"With all those accolades the border issue should have been foreseeable and preventable including criminal activity," another user said.

"She kicked out his front teeth. 'I know his type,' she said of Donald Trump. No way he can debate her," another opined.

"She’s gonna win this thing by a mile. She’s so exciting. People have been thirsting for this energy," an individual chimed in.

"That's why Trump is scared to debate her," added a user.

"Playing Prosecutor only helps Trump. Did she not learn this? Fani Willis the 2nd has arrived," another user wrote.

"LOL She has to talk about 15 years ago because the last 3.5 years have been a disaster," read one remark.
