LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A month after receiving a surprising shout-out from Taylor Swift in her latest album 'The Tortured Poets Department', Charlie Puth is ready to make headlines again.
On Friday, May 3, the singer took to Instagram to announce that he is set to release his new single 'Hero' on May 24.
Puth teased the forthcoming release as he posted a video of himself lip-syncing the yet-to-be-released song while lying next to his dog.

Taylor Swift's shout-out to Charlie Puth
In the title track of 'The Tortured Poets Department' album released on April 19, Swift sings about a series of detailed exchanges with a lover, which is thought to be her ex-boyfriend Matty Healy.
In the second verse of the track, she declares, "You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist."

While Puth's most recent album 'Charlie' was dropped in 2022 and has kept his fans engaged with two singles 'That's Not How This Works' and 'Lipstick', it was the 'Karma' singer's mention of him in the title track of 'TTPD' that truly turned his fans thrilled.

Posting a series of pictures of herself in the studio recording her latest album, Swift wrote, "My mind is blown. I'm completely floored by the love you've shown this album."
"2.6 million. Are you actually serious? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life," she continued.
"Feeling completely overwhelmed. I was already so fired up to get back to the tour but are you doing this?? May 9th can't come soon enough," Swift added.
