PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: In a controversial appearance on Hugh Hewitt's show, former president Donald Trump once again ignited public outrage with his comments about NBA star LeBron James and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Trump not only unleashed a torrent of insults against James but also made a sexually charged comment about Clinton that drew widespread backlash from the internet, MeidasTouch reported.

During the show, Trump expressed his dislike for James, stating, "I'm not a fan of LeBron James or his politics." He then referenced James' endorsement of Clinton and made an apparent sexual reference about the two.

"At a campaign event with James, Clinton walked up to James on stage and came up to his belt buckle. That's not a good look," Trump said.

Hewitt, the interviewer, chuckled after Trump's remark about Clinton being at James' belt buckle, seemingly amused by the former president's lewd comment.

This recent verbal jab was the latest chapter in the long-standing feud between Trump and James. Their rivalry dates back to 2017 when Steph Curry, James' on-court rival at the time, rejected a White House visit after the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Championship, according to Newsweek.

Curry's decision prompted Trump to revoke the invitation, and James came to the Warriors' defense, calling Trump a "bum" on social media.

A year later, James escalated the feud with a scathing claim about Trump in an interview with Kevin Durant and Cari Champion.

"The No. 1 job in America, the appointed person, is someone who doesn't understand the people. And really don't give a f**k about the people. ... It's not even a surprise when he says something. It's laughable and it's scary," James expressed.

Additionally, in the lead-up to the 2020 election, Trump appeared on Rush Limbaugh's show, where he labeled James "a hater" and asserted that viewership of the NBA had declined because it had become "too political."

"The NBA has become so political that nobody cares about it anymore. People don’t wanna see a guy that way. They don’t want to see that. We have enough difficulty during the week, you don't wanna sit down watching a basketball game and then watch somebody that hates your guts, OK? He's a hater," Trump remarked.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election.
