LeBron James' $5M LA mansion taken over by squatters who regulary throw 'cocaine parties' at property
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: LeBron James is facing the squatters issue. The basketball legend is reportedly "very concerned" after a bunch of squatters took over his LA residence. They regularly throw bizarre "cocaine orgy sex parties," reported RadarOnline.
It is said that “one of the neighbors got in touch with LeBron James' house manager” and that “they were told James was very concerned” about the situation.
How much is LeBron James' property worth?
LeBron James owns the four-bedroom and six-bathroom mansion valued at $4.3 million. The property is in a posh area and celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Jeff Bezos, Steve Wynn, and Rob Burkle are NBA star's neighbors.
“I've heard from my security team up there about all the crazy cars, crazy parties at night, how we're not able to get into our property sometimes because they're blocking the street with their cars, and just the nuisance at night with the loud music and people floating out to the streets,” James’ house manager shared with the DailyMail on Friday, March 29.
He added, “It's one of the reasons we have security 24/7. Otherwise, there's no need for me to have security there 24/7 because it's just a construction site.”
It is said the NBA star bought the property in 2022 and is still working on his dream home.
What did authority say about the LeBron James squatter situation?
The outlet reported that the LAPD tried to oust the squatters, but they presented driver's licenses with the mansion’s property address. They also showed a rental agreement to the officer.
“I guess he left his friends in the house,” senior LAPD officer James Allen said. “I guess we can say they're squatters. But they're squatters to the owner that's in foreclosure to the bank.”
He added, “We're working on a plan with the bank to evict the individuals because there's no one at this point to evict them and say they're there illegally. I've submitted it to the City Attorney.”
“I'm citing the home every time we get a radio call for a party,” Officer Allen added. “They're using the home outside of its original purpose, illegally.”
MDRCA Properties, the mansion’s current owner, is said to have the home foreclosed by the bank. However, the foreclosure process was frozen after the organization filed for bankruptcy in February.
Internet mocks LeBron James and his famous neighbors
Internet was quick to troll LeBron James, and a few expressed concern over the rise in the squatters case.
"Watch how quick they change the laws now that Lebron and J Lo are complaining about it. For regular people they don’t give a shit though and enable the behavior by arresting the actual homeowner and not the squatters," one user wrote on X.
Another user commented, "I'm so surprised the elites are hypocrites? Of course they are!!"
One mocked James saying, "Cry me a river."
"What did the police do? Remove and arrest the squatters or allow them to stay?" one raised a question.
One felt for the basketball star, "Too bad, so sad. But it’s ok when it happens to us commoners. These people need a dose of reality !!! The have armed guards so it won’t happen to them unfortunately."
