WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Jamie Raskin suggested moving the US Supreme Court to the Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters in response to conservative judges who urged to be receptive to arguments supporting Donald Trump's immunity from prosecution, as per The Hill.

Raskin said during his Thursday, April 25, appearance on MSNBC's 'The ReidOut', "They’re politicians who are not even subject to popular election, unlike me. They should move the Supreme Court over to the RNC headquarters because they’re acting like a bunch of partisan operatives."

Notably, in earlier oral arguments on Thursday, April 25, D John Sauer, Trump's lawyer, made the point that his client could theoretically command the military to eliminate a political competitor and yet be protected by presidential immunity.

Moreover, Justice Sonia Sotomayor questioned Sauer about whether 'fundamentally evil' acts—like ordering the military to eliminate a political opponent—would be immune to criminal punishment.

After hearing different accounts from justices on the country's highest court, the attorney said the majority of the instances might be covered by the protection

He said, "That well could be an official act."

A member of the House Select Committee looking into the attack on the Capitol building on January 6, Raskin criticized Justice Samuel Alito's claim that criminal prosecution of Trump might incite his followers to 'stage more violent coups' to maintain the former president in power. Alito's comments, according to him, 'buy' into the former president's 'narcissistic criminal worldview'.

He stated, "The most astonishing thing for me today was Justice Alito’s question. He actually asked whether holding the president criminally accountable for actual crimes committed — whether murder or coup or you name it — whether holding them accountable would actually encourage them to stage more violent coups to stay in office to avoid prosecution, which buys completely into Donald Trump’s narcissistic criminal worldview."

He added, "I mean, for all of American history, we’ve said presidents are subject to criminal prosecution if they commit crimes. Now they say, well, if you’re really mean to Donald Trump, and you hold him accountable the way every other American citizen is accountable, then he’ll really overthrow the government. He’ll really bring out the big guns, and we can’t afford that."

Internet slams Jamie Raskin

Many people on the internet trolled Jamie Raskin as he suggested moving the US Supreme Court to the Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters.

A user posted on X, "Jamie should move his office to prison for lying," while one added, "Raskin should be voted out of Congress."

A user also stated, "This man needs investigation," whereas one mentioned, "Shameless right-wing extremists follow the Republican ideology instead of the law. Leonard Leo is behind the scenes pulling his puppets."

A person also wrote, "Raskin has no credibility….so it really doesn’t matter what he says, you can dismiss it outright. Also, he’s an election denier."
