WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden mocked Donald Trump for bragging on Sunday, March 24, about winning two golf awards at his own golf club's ceremony, The Hill reported.

Biden took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a screenshot of Trump's Sunday evening post about winning golf trophies on Truth Social and wrote, "Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment."

Joe Biden mocks Trump for boasting about winning golf trophies

Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, "It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!"

The former president continued, "A large and golfing talented membership, a GREAT and difficult course, made the play very exciting. The qualifying and match play was amazing. A large and distinguished group will be there tonight. Very exciting,  thank you!!!"

Notably, Biden made his social media post almost two weeks after both persons secured their party's nominations and turned their attention to the general election in November.

In what is anticipated to be a rematch between Trump and Biden, the campaigns have heated up in recent weeks.

In hypothetical head-to-head rematches between the parties' presumed leaders, the race is very close. The national polling average of The Hill/Decision Desk HQ indicates that in a head-to-head survey, Trump leads Biden by just 1%.

Furthermore, in hypothetical three-way races that also feature independent contender Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has an average of 9.8 percentage points in hypothetical matchups, Trump's edge over Biden increases to 1.9 percent.

In a statement, the Trump team retaliated to Biden by disparaging the physical prowess of his political rival. A Trump spokesperson said, "Crooked Joe Biden is jealous because anything he does physically is an embarrassment— whether it is falling off his bike, whiffing on golf balls, or just generally falling on his a** in front of the world."

Internet slams Joe Biden for trolling Donald Trump

Many internet users were not impressed with Joe Biden's tweet on Donald Trump and ended up trolling the President on social media.

A user wrote on X, "Biden can not walk up steps. Trump can still win a seniors golf tournament," while one said, "So Tiger woods winning a trophy at his course is suspect and should be made fun of! Your Pathetic!"

One user also stated, "The last time you swung a golf club the ball went backwards 10 yards," while another asked, "Joe, what day is it? What country do you live in? How old are you?"

One user stated, "I don't think you're allowed to assassinate your political opponent like that."
