NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kimberly Guilfoyle was trolled online for sharing her take on South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem's revelation about killing her pet dog while she promoted her new dog-themed children's book, OK! Magazine reported.

According to the publication, the former White House advisor and Donald Trump's daughter-in-law alleged that Noem might have been the victim of sabotage, and the story of her admittedly killing her 14-month-old pup Cricket may have been planted in her upcoming book without her knowledge.

Kimberly Guilfoyle defends South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem

During a television interview to promote her new book titled 'The Princess and Her Pup', Kimberly Guilfoyle was asked about the recent infamous revelation of Noem, who was rumored to be among the top contenders for becoming the running mate for the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

"I just can’t imagine that because there’s a forever home for all animals," Guilfoyle told the host. "I don’t know what happened. Maybe somebody slipped that in and she didn’t see it. I don’t know, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, so that’s a tough one to take," she added.

Noem reportedly elaborated on fatally shooting her dog and a male goat to prove that she was capable of dealing with situations that are "difficult, messy and ugly" in her book titled 'No Going Back: The Truth on What's Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward'.

Her actions led to a public outcry and put her on damage control. She had to defend her action multiple times, and wrote on X on April 28, "I can understand why some people are upset about a 20-year-old story. The fact is, South Dakota law states that dogs who attack and kill livestock can be put down. Given that Cricket had shown aggressive behavior toward people by biting them, I decided what I did."

Guilfoyle's theory of sabotage does not hold much water in this situation. However, she declared that a portion of the sales proceeds of her children's book would be directed to an animal welfare charity.

Internet trolls Kimberly Guilfoyle for her 'conspiracy theory'

"Didn't know about it? She's already double and tripled down on the story including bragging about shooting 3 horses," wrote a social media user on X, slamming Guilfoyle for defending Noem.

"This is about as believable as anything else Kim has ever said," stated another.

"Which is why she tweeted about it too?" asked a third.

"These People would deny their own eye color," one person said.

"Lying about it even though Noem admits it and has doubled down / That's some straight up MAGA playbook material," commented another.
