WASHINGTON, IOWA: Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy pledged to honor and respect the legacy of former President Donald Trump during his potential tenure in the White House.

He explicitly stated his respect for Trump's achievements during a conversation with his supporters in Washington, Iowa.

The Republican presidential candidate responded to the video of the conversation on X, saying, "I respect Trump & will respect his legacy when I'm in the White House. And I will take our America-First movement to the *next* level."

"I respect him [Trump] for his accomplishments for this country. He kept us out of war. And he grew this economy. And I respect him for that," Ramaswamy said to his supporters.

He also criticized his rival White House hopefuls for slamming the GOP frontrunner continuously.

"The rest of the candidates are doing it. It almost makes me feel disgusted, where these people have been licking his boots for money and endorsement for years," he stated.

Vivek Ramaswamy to take 'America First agenda to next level'

The 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur clarified that while he disagrees with some of Trump's policies, such as those related to Covid-19, he has no intention of quarterbacking the former President.

He added, "I'm running to be president of the United States, because I think I'm going to be best positioned to lead this nation from the front, to take our America First agenda to the next level."

Ramaswamy also reiterated the areas he plans to focus on if elected. This includes his opposition to the illegal use of the eminent domain and climate change agenda, shutting down the FBI, ending birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants' kids, and mass deportations.

Pointing out that the Republican frontrunner's agenda aligns with his, he added, "But, it also takes an outsider who knows and deeply understands the law and the Constitution in this country. And those two things don't usually go together."
