Internet unmoved as Gina Carano reveals feeling hopeless and disrespected after 'The Mandalorian' firing
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: People on the internet seemed not so sympathetic toward Gina Carano as she gave her first interview after suing Disney for 'Mandalorian' firing.
The 41-year-old former mixed martial artist was reportedly terminated by the media company in 2021 over her controversial social media share.
Gina Carano's bombshell post about Jews
In February 2021, Carano posted on her Instagram, as reported by The New York Post, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children.”
“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews,” the now-deleted post read.
Carano made another other controversial post when she claimed “Jeff Epstein didn't kill himself.”
Gina Carano’s job was taken away from her
Following the controversy, she was laid off from Disney+‘s ‘The Mandalorian’. A statement by Lucasfilm, the production company behind the TV series, reportedly said at the time, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”
It also noted, “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
In February 2024, Carano took legal action against Disney and Lucasfilm and demanded $75,000 (£60,000) in damages. In her lawsuit, the actress has also sought back her role in ‘The Mandalorian’.
Gina Carano says she became 'unhirable' after Lucasfilm called her out
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘In the Blood’ star shared what she felt during that time.
She said, “I just laid down and cried and cried. I curled into a fetal position. It’s not that I didn’t think that something like that could happen.” “It was that I couldn’t imagine they would put out this horrendous statement about me after working with me — the most powerful entertainment company in the world saying that about me,” she noted.
Carano further mentioned, “You become unhirable. And then it becomes OK for other people to disrespect you.”

“And then you’re just carrying around this disrespect, and you’re shouldering all this shame, and it affects your physicality, your mentality. You’re just kind of hopeless. So to be able to fight back — it makes me feel like, ‘OK. That feels good,’” she added.
Internet says Gina Carano needs to be a 'better person'
However, Carano did not get support online as a user tweeted, “Has she tried being a better person?”
Another person wrote, “Bro you were literally a D-grade actress, what you got you should've embraced that and what did you do instead?”
