Court rejects Angelina Jolie's allegations

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had bought the French vineyard, Chateau Miraval.

Brad claimed that Jolie sold her stake in their vineyard to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without his agreement in 2021.

Jolie attempted to overturn a preliminary ruling at the LA Superior Court which allowed Pitt's claims. In a win for the 'Moneyball' star, the court rejected the allegations that his lawsuit was "frivolous, malicious and part of a problematic pattern".

As per the latest ruling, Pitt can go ahead and take the court battle to trial and sue Jolie for breaching an agreement that gave each of them first refusal.

It was reported by DailyMail in February that some of Jolie's shares were taken away by a court in Luxembourg, which made Pitt the majority shareholder.

The case over Chateau Miraval has already been heard in Luxembourg, France, and Los Angeles courts.

As per the outlet, the real owner of the shares is a shadowy trust on the Isle of Jersey. It is managed by a company of which Shefler is not a shareholder.

“Brad wants Jersey to start providing answers. He should have the right to know who has bought into his business,” said a source close to the ‘Fight Club’ actor.

“He has put his heart and soul into Chateau Miraval and feels the rug has been pulled out from under him. He does not know for sure who he is actually in business with.”

Brad Pitt reportedly believes the Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler paid an eight-figure sum amounting to almost $64 million to Angelina Jolie to buy her stake in their French winery estate.

Pitt and Jolie had purchased the property when they were together and wanted to leave the legacy behind by turning it into a winery business.
