Internet wishes 'peaceful recovery' as Prince William gives a rare update on Kate Middleton's health

HUGH TOWN, ISLES OF SCILLY: Prince William provided an update on his wife Kate Middleton's health as she is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

On his first visit to the Isles of Scilly since ascending to the title of the Duke of Cornwall, he shared the rare update on Middleton's health when he was welcomed at the St Mary's Community Hospital in Hugh Town.

Tracy Smith, the administrator at St Mary's Community Hospital, greeted the heir apparent to the British throne to host his tour of the medical facility.

Recalling her conversation with William, Smith said, "I asked William about his wife Kate and he said, 'she's doing well, thanks,' and I suggested they might like to come for a visit and bring the children."

She shared that William told her, "The children are very jealous that I am here. Maybe we might come later in the year," according to Metro.

Matron Lynda McHale presented William with a card for his father King Charles who is also diagnosed with cancer.

"It was a card from my granddaughter who wanted to wish his father and wife 'get well soon,'" said McHale.

As MEAWW previously reported, Kate released a video statement in March to reveal her cancer diagnosis and that she was undergoing treatment.

"This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," she said at the time.

"As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment," the Duchess of Cornwall shared.

"But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and, Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay," she added.
