Kirsten Dunst says Tobey Maguire ‘couldn't breathe’ during kissing scene
In one scene, they had to kiss each other as the 48-year-old actor's character was hanging upside down.
Describing the experience, Dunst shared on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, as per Daily Mail, “I remember Sam Raimi (director) giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it.”
“It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn't breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him,” the ‘Marie Antoinette’ actress added.
Kirsten Dunst worked with her husband Jesse Plemons in ‘Civil War’
During the interview, Dunst also discussed her new movie, ‘Civil War’.
She reportedly told the host, Jonathan Ross, “You are really dropped in the center of a civil war in America. It's kind of a road trip through the backwoods of America from New York City to photograph and interview the president - he's a fascist president, it's his third term.”
The mother-of-two spoke about working with her husband, Jesse Plemons, in the movie. She said, “Another actor was cast that couldn't end up doing it because of scheduling.”
“Even in reading the script, that scene was chilling and the way he plays it...what happens in that scene really sets the film off to the trajectory and really ignites the film. He's very casual about it which makes it even more chilling,” Dunst mentioned.
Jesse Plemons praised Kirsten Dunst
The ‘Bring It On’ actress wed the 35-year-old actor in 2022 after meeting during the shooting of ‘Fargo’.
Last year, Plemons told ET, “Well, it's funny. I wasn't sure how different [marriage] was gonna feel because we've been together for a while and two kids later, it's pretty solid, you know?”
“But there was something really nice about [a wedding] and actually setting aside time to celebrate it and it does feel different, in a good way,” he noted.
Plemons added, “We connected first creatively and as friends and I just enjoy her instincts and her opinions so much. She has such great taste and [she's] very honest, which I appreciate.”
