LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Phillippe recently voiced strong disapproval of the ongoing discussions about nepotism in Hollywood while coming to the defense of his children, whom he shares with his former spouse, Reese Witherspoon.

Meanwhile, Witherspoon, the accomplished actress, caused quite a stir on social media by sharing a quirky video recipe dubbed 'Snow Salt Chococinno' on TikTok a few days ago.

In the video, Witherspoon was seen munching on snow garnished with sugary syrups and coffee, sending her fans into a frenzy.

In another noteworthy moment, Witherspoon and her daughter Ava Phillippe made a rare appearance together at the Critics Choice Awards 2024. Ava was bombarded with observations noting her striking resemblance to her famous mother.

Ryan Phillippe addresses nepotism talks in Hollywood

As reported by Fox News, Ryan shares two children, Ava and Deacon, with his ex-wife Witherspoon. Both Ava and Deacon have decided to pursue acting, following in the footsteps of their famous parents.

In an interview with ExtraTV, Ryan discussed Ava's venture into acting, stating, "She’s sort of getting her feet wet, you know? She’s taking time to kind of figure out exactly what it is she wants to do."

Ryan emphasized that nepotism discussions aren't unique to Hollywood, pointing out that many people in various industries follow their parents' career paths to some extent.

As per Fox News, he expressed frustration with critics who target children of actors and entertainers, arguing, "That's what always annoys me about this whole nepotism talk with the industry. You know, so many people grow up and end up doing what their parents do, you know, to some degree or another. ... To me, I always get offended for the children of actors and entertainers when people bring that up because, yeah, of course, that's what they've grown up around."

The 'Cruel Intentions' star highlighted the advantage of growing up in Hollywood, suggesting that exposure to the industry from a young age helps these kids develop resilience to handle the challenges of fame.

According to Fox News, he remarked, "By the way, that familiarity makes them handle some of what is hard about this industry. You’ve gotta have a thick skin. There’s so much rejection and nasty things that can be said about you. It’s not all celebration. These kids have grown up watching on set with Reese or with me. It seems natural, I think."

While Ava explores acting, Deacon has shifted his focus to music after making an appearance in 'Never Have I Ever' in 2022. Ryan and Reese were married in 1999 and divorced in 2008.

Internet says Hollywood is a 'family business'

A user wrote, "Nepo is nepo."

Another user wrote, "There is nothing wrong with nepotism and legacy. People with a historical vested interest in any entity should get priority."

A user commented, "Hey, it's the family business. How is it any different than @Walmart or @ford or @Disney ? I have no problems with Hollywood nepotism.....assuming the kid has talent."

Another user commented, "Ryan is 100% correct. It happens everywhere and in every industry from Hollywood to a plant factory. Nothing wrong with it, especially if the kids are interested in it."
