LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sofia Vergara recently made a heartwarming appearance on 'The Tonight Show', where she shared anecdotes about a reunion with her 'Modern Family'  co-stars.

The beloved sitcom concluded in 2020 after an impressive 11-season run, leaving fans nostalgic for the quirky Pritchett-Dunphy family.

During the show, Vergara reflected on the emotional journey of filming the series, the challenges of staying connected during the pandemic, and the possibility of a 'Modern Family' reboot.

A sentimental reunion

The interview kicked off with Vergara expressing her joy over hosting a 'Modern Family' reunion party at her house. The actress couldn't contain her excitement as she reminisced about the gathering, calling the cast "some of the most talented people" and praising their comedic prowess.

Pandemic's impact

Vergara shared the poignant story of how the cast, determined to stay connected after the show's conclusion, faced an unexpected obstacle. "Can you believe that we finished Modern Family in 2020, and, you know, it was so emotional. We were all like, 'We have to be together a lot. We cannot just separate.' And then two weeks later, the pandemic hit. And so we didn't see each other for almost - it's going to be four years - until I did this thing in my house in November."

Ed O'Neill's technological challenges

The actress playfully revealed a humorous aspect of the virtual communication - Ed O'Neill's struggle with technology. According to Vergara, the veteran actor, who played Jay Pritchett on the show, was not adept at texting. She comically described how O'Neill's delayed and cryptic responses left the cast bewildered, creating moments of laughter and confusion in their online exchanges.

"We're always on chats, and the only one that is not really good because he's very old, is Ed O'Neill. He's not good with the texting. We joke about something or we say something, and he reacts like, 26 weeks later," she said.

The reboot dilemma

Jimmy Fallon couldn't resist asking the burning question on every fan's mind: "Oh, maybe it's time for a reboot?" Vergara's response was both insightful and humorous.

While acknowledging the emotional impact of the series and the strong desire to work together again, she emphasized the need for more time before considering a reboot.

"No, it's only been four years. I don't know, but it doesn't seem right. I feel like they need - we need a little more time. Well, but we don't have much time because Ed is old, so..." she quipped.
