Amy Robach breaks down on podcast discussing relationship struggles with TJ Holmes
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Amy Robach was in tears while talking to her partner TJ Holmes about their relationship issues on the January 23 episode of their podcast, 'Amy & TJ.'
According to The US Sun, the former 'Good Morning America' co-hosts have been dating well before November 2022, when their relationship was leaked to the public.
Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have hit a rough patch
Holmes, 46, admitted in the latest episode of their podcast to be unplanned and that he was surprised at the state of their relationship. The couple then proceeded to discuss how working together for this long had brought up its challenges.
"We're spending hours and hours side by side, working on things. We work differently, we've discovered, when it comes to brainstorming, coming up with ideas, thinking about guests, thinking about content," stated Amy.
"I like to talk it out and brainstorm and throw things out and up, and you like to quietly do your thing by yourself. And so what we've ended up doing is sitting in silence for hours next to each other, and it's exhausting," the 50-year-old television star added.
Her partner acknowledged her complaint, saying, "I'm not great at that."
Amy Robach gets emotional while reflecting on her personal life
"Obviously, with everything else going on in my life, I've felt extremely disconnected from you, and I'm somebody who I think, especially when I feel the way I do I've realized that I do want and need and prefer physical touch, words of affirmation, communication," Robach launched into a rant.
"So when I'm sitting next to somebody, who I know we're both working hard, but I feel is completely emotionally removed from our relationship," she continued, fighting back tears.
"So it's the struggle of, yes, we've always worked together and gotten along, but this is a different kind of working together. The last few days, I've felt disconnected to you."
Later, she got misty-eye again while accusing Holmes of bottling up his feelings, crying, "Do you know what it's like to feel shut out from the person that you love?"
Apologizing to her, Holmes asked if she was "scared" of their relationship falling apart, to which Robach replied, "I'm not scared when we're talking. I'm scared when we're not."
