Jake Tapper reads alleged attacker manifesto, Jeanine Pirro snaps: 'Outrageous!'
WASHINGTON, DC: US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro clashed with CNN host Jake Tapper after he read excerpts from the alleged manifesto linked to White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting suspect Cole Tomas Allen during a televised interview on ‘State of the Union’.
Jeanine Pirro says Trump was 'target' in Cole Allen case
Pirro argued that Donald Trump was directly targeted in the incident, insisting the case extended beyond what was contained in the alleged manifesto.
“The president is a target. And make no mistake, it is not just the manifesto. It is his actions,” she said.
Tapper questioned that interpretation, noting that the only named individual in the document was Kash Patel, who has said he was not a target. He also referenced the alleged language used toward the president and pressed Pirro on the conclusion being drawn.

Pirro reacted sharply to Tapper’s questions, rejecting his framing of the discussion.
“First of all, that's outrageous – I mean, there's a lot of other things you could have referred to,” she said, before adding, “This guy is a hater, he hates Trump so much he wants to kill him!”
She also said proving intent in the case would not be difficult, dismissing arguments that Allen’s mental state should be a focus. Pirro cited his educational background and professional experience to argue he was fully aware of his actions.
Secret Service agent wounded in April 25 attack, says Jeanine Pirro
Pirro also cited investigative findings from the April 25 incident, saying a Secret Service agent was injured during the attack.
“There’s video of the defendant shooting at the Secret Service agent. We now can establish that a pellet that came from the buckshot from the defendant’s Mossberg pump-action shotgun was intertwined with the vest of the Secret Service officer. It is definitively his bullet,” she stated.
Following the incident, Allen was arrested and charged federally with attempted assassination of the President of the United States, interstate transport of firearms and ammunition with intent to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Allen would face full federal prosecution, while FBI Director Kash Patel stated evidence indicated he traveled to Washington DC with the intent to target the president and members of the administration.
