LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: James Cameron has been slammed online after he called Donald Trump’s presidency “sickening” and also revealed that he’s moving to New Zealand permanently.

The Canadian filmmaker recently sat down for an interview with New Zealand outlet Stuff, where he shared his views on the changing America under Trump.

“I think it’s horrific, I think it’s horrifying. I see it as a turn away from everything decent. America doesn’t stand for anything if it doesn’t stand for what it has historically stood for," he said, as per The Guardian.

"It becomes a hollow idea, and I think they’re hollowing it out as fast as they can for their own benefit,” he noted.

James Cameron, 70, also claimed that he doesn’t like “to read about it on the front page every single day. And it’s just sickening. There’s something nice about the New Zealand outlets — at least they’ll put it on page three. I just don’t want to see that guy’s face any more on the front page of the paper.”

“It’s inescapable there, it’s like watching a car crash over and over and over,” Cameron added.

The ‘Titanic’ director also said during the interview that his New Zealand citizenship is impending before mentioning, “If you’re going to uproot your family and move somewhere, you have to invest, you have to be part of it, you have to earn standing,” as reported by Variety.

“I just think you’ve got to earn your right to be in a place… There’s an innate respect and a demand for respect [here]. Everybody has this kind of equal status in terms of person-hood. And I love that – that’s what I wanted my kids to experience,” he stated.

“Nobody cares,” a second user wrote.

A third user said, “Those who preach the loudest have the most to hide. Just do your deep sea diving and make films that come out every 5-7 years dude, cause no one gives a s**t what celebs think about Trump/politics.”

A critic posted, “Bro...... maybe think about half the US population not watching your movies anymore before saying stuff like this.......”

Another user commented, “Like a moth to a flame. Hollywood has forgotten how to entertain and instead pound ideology.”

“Do you really think anyone cares what James Cameron thinks? The answer would be no,” a tweet read.

Another wrote, “U run away when s**t is rough. It's tough on everyone. True American right there. What a b***h.”
