LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Lee Curtis hasn’t shied away from speaking out on topics ranging from ICE enforcement to the Jeffrey Epstein files. The Oscar-winning actress criticized the Trump administration on Thursday, February 5, while helping the nonprofit Project Angel Food open in Hollywood.
“Every day I think I’m not going to be shocked anymore and then I’m shocked,” Curtis said. Meanwhile, the recent release of the Department of Justice (DOJ) video has fueled new questions about Epstein’s death.
The footage appears to show an “orange figure” moving up the staircase toward the isolated, locked tier where Epstein’s cell was located at approximately 10.39 pm on August 9, 2019. The video has added fresh scrutiny to Epstein’s death.
Jamie Lee Curtis calls Trump administraion 'inhuman', slams ICE's conduct
The 'Freaky Friday' actress didn’t hold back as she based the Trump administration ICE and slammed the Epstein case.
“It’s just inhuman. It is inhuman the way this administration is treating its citizens, and its constituents and people in need. It’s an abhorrence what they’re doing. The ICE situation is out of control. It’s simply a distraction so that we don’t pay attention to the Epstein files,” she said.
“I’m angrier probably than I’ve ever been and more turned on to the need to do what we’re doing,” Curtis added. “We’re only going to get s**t done if we do it together and defy these motherf**kers,” she said to applause.
She attended the Project Angel Food event in Hollywood, where the nonprofit unveiled its new Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Kitchen & Campus.
“See what sitcoms can do,” Chuck Lorre joked. “Come on, right? I’m very grateful and honored to be a part of this.” Looking up at his name on the building, he added, “I’m starting to feel uncomfortably like [billionaire media businessman and philanthropist] Haim Saban. Not to cast dispersion but a smaller font would have been good.”
New DOJ video and ICE actions put focus on systemic controversies
Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the latest celebrities to speak out against ICE’s enforcement tactics and the fatal shootings of US citizens by federal officers in Minneapolis.
Other stars, including Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Finneas, and Kehlani, have also criticized the federal agency and called for support for immigrants in the US, including during high-profile events like the 2026 Grammys.
At the same time, newly released Department of Justice documents have put fresh scrutiny on the Jeffrey Epstein case. Video footage now shows an orange figure on a staircase a day before Epstein’s death, raising questions about earlier investigations.
🇺🇸 Newly released DOJ records show investigators reviewing surveillance footage from the night of Jeffrey Epstein’s death noticed an orange-colored figure moving up the stairs toward the locked, isolated tier where his cell was located around 10:39 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2019.

An entry in an observation log from the Metropolitan Correctional Center appears to note previously unreported activity: “A flash of orange looks to be going up the L Tier stairs - could possibly be an inmate escorted up to that Tier."
As per CBS News, further complicating the case, an FBI memorandum indicates that investigators reached differing conclusions when reviewing the same footage. The FBI log describes the blurry image as "possibly an inmate," while the Department of Justice’s Office of Inspector General flagged it differently.
The contrasting interpretations have reignited debate over oversight and accountability in both the Epstein investigation and broader government actions.
