NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jamie Lee Curtis broke down in tears as she spoke out about the tragic death of MAGA activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, the co-founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 while answering questions about 'gang violence' during an event hosted by his nonprofit political organization. Authorities have since arrested Tyler Robinson in connection with the killing.

Jamie Lee Curtis gets emotional while talking about Charlie Kirk's death

Despite having opposing political views, Jamie Lee Curtis expressed empathy and respect for aspects of Charlie Kirk’s character during a recent episode of Marc Maron’s 'WTF' podcast, reportedly recorded on Saturday, September 13.

Before diving into her thoughts on Kirk, Curtis briefly misspoke, mistakenly referring to him as "Charlie Crist." She attributed the slip to what she described as Kirk’s “deep, deep belief” in his faith.

“I’m going to bring something up with you just because it’s front of mind,” she began, her voice cracking with emotion.

Curtis continued while fighting back tears, “I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith. Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me." She added, "I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.”

She then reflected on the broader impact of violent imagery in society. “Yesterday was 9/11,” she recalled. “I know there is video of his death. I know people who’ve seen it.”

Curtis drew a parallel between the repeated airing of traumatic footage from 9/11 and the graphic video of Kirk’s killing:

“Yesterday, [on 9/11], we watched again these images of those buildings coming down. … Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So we don’t know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those towers come down over and over and over and over again, or watching his execution over and over and over again. … I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot.”

She concluded with a sobering thought, “We don’t know enough psychologically" about what this kind of visual saturation does to us. Finally, she posed a question: “Is that the reason why we’re all feeling this lack of humanity, because we’re just saturated with these images?”

Megyn Kelly and Glenn Beck broke down in tears on air after Kirk's death

As news of Charlie Kirk’s death spread across the internet, figures from both the political world and the entertainment industry began sharing heartfelt tributes.

Conservative media personalities Megyn Kelly and Glenn Beck were among those visibly shaken, both breaking down in tears while speaking about Kirk live on air.

Kelly said while choking up, “We have lost one of the most important voices that we’ve had in my lifetime on the right. One of the most important messengers, someone sent by God to change minds and hearts on the most important, divisive, [and] difficult issues of our time.”

During the live stream, Kelly admitted she was hesitant to report the news at first. “There are outlets reporting the worst right now, Glenn,” she told Beck. “I don’t know what I’m waiting for before I report it, you know. I trust Just the News, I trust Deseret. What, are we waiting for the AP to say it? We don’t trust them more than we trust these. They are reporting that Charlie has died — that he’s dead, at the age of 31.”

As she spoke, Kelly held her head in her hands and began to cry. Beck, visibly emotional, turned away from the camera, sobbing. “There’s no way he survived that,” he said through tears. “The only good thing is, it had to have happened quickly.”

Beck added, “I don’t know how, but something good and glorious is going to come from this.”
