For the last six, four years especially, it's just been taking a lot of heat for stepping out and kind of telling people how we feel about the state of the country and the regime that has been in office…"
"But it's cool to look here this week and see all the celebrities and people that are showing up that didn't really speak out," he added.
The ‘You Make It Easy’ singer also noted that the presence of high-profile performers during the inauguration "just kind of feels electric."

Jason Aldean says Donald Trump taking office gives him a 'sense of relief'
Elsewhere during the interview, the singer spoke about Donald Trump's second term. "I think for the last few years, as much as a lot of the media has tried to make it seem like everything's been so great, it hasn’t. A lot of us knew that for a long time. And I think a lot of other people are starting to see it now," the country star said.
"To have President Trump back in office, I just think it gives everybody a sense of relief and for a lot of people … to feel like we're headed in the right direction," Aldean added.
On his experience of performing at the Inaugural Liberty Ball, Aldean shared, "Every time I think I’ve done it all …This was a whole different ball game for me. It was just a huge honor to be there and be part of that night. It just kind of feels electric. Everybody is just excited for this new chapter of where we are headed."
Jason Aldean praises Carrie Underwood's inauguration performance
Besides, Jason Aldean also had a word of appreciation for fellow country star Carrie Underwood, who had to perform an a capella rendition of 'America the Beautiful' at Donald Trump’s inauguration due to technical glitches.
The ‘Highway Desperado’ hitmaker said, "First of all, it’s a hard song to do anyway, and when you’re supposed to be singing to a track and that’s what gives you pitch reference for the song."
"To not have that, for her to just kinda say, ‘All right, listen, we’ll go.’ That’s a big move and that’s a pro move on her part, so I thought it was great," he added.
