NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a rare gathering of three US presidents, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden joined forces for a fundraising event at New York's Radio City Music Hall, where more than $25 million was raised for the Biden-Harris reelection campaign, reported Huffpost.

However, it wasn't just the political heavyweights who made headlines, it was actor Jason Bateman and his striking beard that stole the spotlight.

The trio of Democratic presidents made a special appearance on Bateman's popular podcast, 'SmartLess,' alongside co-hosts Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. Naturally, the occasion called for a group photo to commemorate the momentous event.

Yet, it was Bateman's facial hair that captured the attention of social media users, overshadowing the historic gathering. On X (formerly Twitter), netizens couldn't help but focus on the actor's impressive scruff, sparking a flurry of humorous comments and speculations.

One user quipped, "I love that everybody has an entire backstory on why Jason wasn't wearing a suit coat and had the audacity to have facial hair. He's cooler than you'll ever be."

Another eagerly anticipated hearing Bateman's explanation for his rugged appearance, writing, "I love everything about this!!!!!! Can't wait for the @SmartLess episode to hear Bateman explain why he looks like he was just rescued from a shipwreck."

The humor didn't stop there, as one user humorously speculated about Bateman's future roles, asking, "Is Jason preparing for a Jack Black biopic?"

Meanwhile, another user humorously likened the scene to a celebration of Bateman's fictional release from a foreign prison, saying, "This looks like Joe Biden, Barack Obama Bill Clinton, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes are celebrating Jason Bateman’s release from a foreign prison."

The episode with the three presidents on 'SmartLess' will air at a later date, according to the White House.

‘The Daily Show’ slams $500K price tag for Biden’s NYC fundraiser

On a recent episode of 'The Daily Show,' host Jordan Klepper didn't hold back in his criticism of the hefty $500,000 price tag attached to President Joe Biden's New York City fundraiser. The star-studded event, featuring former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, aimed to support Biden's 2024 reelection campaign and boasted performances by artists like Queen Latifah and Lizzo.

Klepper wasted no time in lampooning the event, likening it to "Coachella for the kids who asked the teacher for more homework."

However, his tone turned more serious as he lambasted the exorbitant cost of attendance, arguing that democracy shouldn't operate on the basis of wealthy individuals paying for access to politicians.

"Guys, I’m sorry. This just feels gross," Klepper remarked. "Save that money for a Supreme Court justice. Much better bang for your buck."

Adding a touch of humor, Klepper also quipped about the iconic Annie Leibovitz photograph of the three presidents, joking that participants might need to disrobe for the shoot, especially given Leibovitz's penchant for nude portraiture.

Despite the hefty price tag, the fundraiser had already amassed an impressive $25 million in donations and was expected to draw around 5,000 supporters. Klepper cheekily remarked that money seemed to be one of the founding principles of American democracy.
