Jason Kelce slams troll over 'homemaker' jibe at wife after ex-NFL star rebuked Harrison Butker speech

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Jason Kelce responded to a tweet that referred to his wife, Kylie Kelce, as a homemaker whose home is disorganized. During his response Kelce stood by her, emphasizing that homemaking is her chosen occupation and highlighting that they both maintain their home together.

This tweet followed Kelce's remarks regarding Harrison Butker's controversial statements about women during a speech at Benedictine College on May 11 as per People. During Butker’s address at the liberal arts Catholic school, he encouraged female graduates to embrace the role of a "homemaker," using his wife, Isabelle, as an example.

On May 27, Kelce responded to a post from an X user @Gappy78076769 amid Harrison Butker's controversial speech. The post labeled his wife as a homemaker and made remarks about their home, alleging, "Your wife is a homemaker. But you can't support butker. And your wife is a homemaker whose home is a mess. Sorry but it is dirty and messy on television. Seems you're a bit hypocritical. Y'all are going to be left with nothing but swifties. You just ruined your gig. It's a shame."

In response, Kelce clarified his perspective on how he views his wife, stating, "Responding to this, because I have seen a number of people say it. I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who are figuring it out on the daily."

Kelce also cleared the air about their shared responsibilities in raising their children, saying, "The only expectation is that we love each other, support one another, and are committed to our family, that comes first. We both raise our kids, we both work, We both keep our home."

He also emphasized how they both acknowledge their faults in maintaining the cleanliness of their home, stating, "It is both our faults it is messy, but such is life with 3 young children, busy schedules, and neither of us being neat freaks. She also makes a mean sandwich."

Kelce also shared his perspective about homemakers saying, "If being a homemaker, works for some, and that’s what they want, then hell yea, that’s awesome, more power to you. I want to be clear, I’m not downplaying that at all, but that is not our family dynamic."

After Kelce's reply to a tweet concerning his wife Kylie, over 2.5K comments flooded the Twitter comment section.

One user shared, "How you keep your cool and respond intelligently to trolls is a masterclass others could learn from. Fine example sir thank you." 

Another user showed respect for his comments on hateful troll, "Such a respectful, wonderful response to a hateful troll. What an incredible husband, wife, and whole family. I love you guys" 

Another user claimed, "Clearly people looking to troll you (4 follows I mean come on) , ignore the haters" The fourth added, "Don’t respond to the fake accounts, Jason, just block them You’re a great husband & dad!"

Jason Kelce's wife Kylie was frustrated over Harrison Butker’s comments 

Retired Philadelphia Eagles player Kelce has shared his and his wife Kylie's perspective on the Butker's speech at Benedictine College's graduation ceremony on May 11. During a recent episode of the 'New Heights' podcast Kelce offered his take on the speech. Butker's speech touched on various topics including abortion, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and surrogacy, referring to them as "diabolical lies told to women."

As a father of three girls, Kelce expressed his concern about how his daughters would react if they were told after earning a degree that they should solely focus on being homemakers. He emphasized that if his daughters were influenced by such advice, he would consider it a failure "as a dad." 

Kelce, who has been teammates with Butker since 2017, stated, "I don't care who's talking to them. If you let somebody up on a stage tell you that you can't do that, and then you're like, 'Oh, f**k guess I won't go be a Fortune 500 CEO,' like, you weren't going to make it." 

He advised listeners to simply disregard opinions they don't agree with, labeling the speaker as an "idiot" and moving on. Despite understanding why some people were upset about Butker's speech, Kelce remarked, "I mean, I get what the fuss is about because I know that certain of these groups have been, persecuted against for a long period in this country, and women in particular."

He shared that his wife, Kylie Kelce was "a little bit frustrated with some of the comments" made by Butker.
