Jason Kelce may have to compensate for smashing fan's phone over vile remark about brother Travis
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Former Philadelphia Eagles center and ESPN commentator Jason Kelce might have to compensate a Penn State student for smashing his phone after he used a homophobic slur toward his brother, Travis Kelce.
When the retired footballer was walking through a crowd of people outside the Beaver Stadium on Saturday, November 2, the individual apparently shouted, "Hey, Kelce. How does it feel your brother's a f****t dating Taylor Swift?" referring to Travis, who has been dating the pop star since 2023.
Jason was present at the venue for ESPN’s 'College GameDay'.

Jason Kelce might need to pay as much for a brand-new iPhone 16 over altercation
In several viral videos shared on X (formerly Twitter), the individual, who was sporting a Penn State hoodie at the time of the incident, was seen following Jason Kelce closely and appearing to record him before the altercation.
After the person shouted the disparaging question, Jason spun around, slammed his phone out of his hand, and exclaimed, "Who's the f****t now?"
As Jason's actions might theoretically be classified as assault alongside a number of other violations, a litigator revealed that the former Philadelphia Eagles player will need to pay a fine.
"I did civil litigation full time for 7 years and the most that kid is getting for damages is the value of a new phone," someone with the handle @kittygang_4ever wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
This means that Jason would be expected to pay the $1,034 that the brand-new iPhone 16 currently retails for, as per Marca.
If Jason is required to pay for the phone, it is unlikely to occur because of any legal action taken against him by his employer or the Penn State campus police.

It's a modest amount to pay to prevent some disrespect and protect his family's honor, particularly considering the NFL champion made $50,000,000 throughout his tenure.
Given that he was the one who irritated the former NFL star rather than the other way around, the Penn State student will have to go through the civil courts if he wants to receive a new iPhone 16.
ESPN unlikely to penalize Jason Kelce despite criticism over altercation
According to ESPN-affiliated sources, the network will not impose any disciplinary measures on Jason Kelce over Saturday's altercation, per Marca.
Fans have responded to Jason's robust reaction to the heckler's insults in a variety of ways on the internet. While some have praised him for defending Travis, others have criticized his word choice.
Jason issued an apology over the heated altercation during ESPN's 'Monday Night Countdown'.
He said, "I'm not happy with anything that took place. I'm not proud of it. In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I don't think that's a productive thing."
"In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn't have... I try to live my life by the golden rule, that's what I've always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I'm going to keep doing that moving forward, even though I fell short this week," added the father of three.
Jason Kelce addressed the Penn State phone-smashing incident at the start of ESPN's pregame show tonight and apologized:
