Jason Kelce reveals new rule wife Kylie laid out for him after his NFL retirement
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OHIO: Jason Kelce spoke about a rule his wife Kylie Kelce has made for him following his retirement from the National Football League.
While appearing on ‘Green Light with Chris Long’, he revealed that Kylie wants him to work out "a minimum of three days a week, otherwise she doesn't want to deal with me,” as reported by PEOPLE.
Jason Kelce claims working out leads to a ‘great mood’
Jason Kelce further shared, “When I've worked out, I am in a great mood. I interact well with my kids and everybody....just I'm a better person.”
Jason also mentioned that on some days when he did not do any exercise, he's “not really being productive for the day...like you're missing something.”
Jason Kelce planning to lose weight
Besides, on a recent episode of his 'New Heights' podcast, Jason Kelce reportedly said, “I’m retired. I played my whole career 295 [pounds]. I’m trying to get down to 250, 260. My goal is two pounds every week, lose it.”
“I want to lose it, but maintain my muscle mass. I’m trying to monitor my protein, my carbs, my fats, make sure that I’m hitting at least one pound per body weight,” he asserted.
“There are different ways to do this. I personally don’t subscribe to doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto. "F**k no, I’m not doing that,” Jason added.
Jason Kelce calls retirement ‘an incredible relief’
In June, the 36-year-old opened up about his retirement with PEOPLE.
“Those previous three years, I felt like I still had it in me and still wanted to and still could play at the level I felt I wanted to be able to play at and go out there and compete,” he noted.
Jason also stated, “And after stepping away this year, it just was more and more evident after the season that my body is telling me to stop. I don't think I could play another season at the way I want to and the way that's going to make me happy.”
He continued, “If I'm being quite honest, even the last year at times, it wasn't what I wanted, and part of that is because of where my body was at. So all those things culminated into the decision."
“Yeah, I mean, no matter what decision you're making, when it’s weighing on you, there's going to be relief. So the year before with the documentary with my wife and I, it was an incredible relief to announce that I was playing again because I'm no longer going back and forth on this thing that's like hanging over your head.”
“And the same thing happened this year when I decided it was time to retire. It was an incredible relief to not have to be racking my brain over what the right decision is or what I want to do,” the father-of-three added.
