Jason Kelce says he feels 'really special' after dethroning Mariah Carey as 'Queen of Christmas'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jason Kelce is celebrating a major holiday chart achievement after his duet 'Maybe This Christmas', which he recorded with Stevie Nicks, surpassed Mariah Carey’s iconic 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' to top the iTunes 100 Holiday chart, TMZ reported.
During the latest episode of his 'New Heights' podcast on Tuesday, November 12, Kelce shared his excitement and humor about the accomplishment.
Jason Kelce reflects on dethroning Mariah Carey
When his brother and podcast co-host Travis Kelce asked how it felt to dethrone Carey, Jason responded jokingly, “You know, I’ve fought my whole life to be the queen of Christmas and the fact that we’re finally there … it’s just really special.”
Jason acknowledged that the holiday music season was still in its early days and noted that the timing of the chart success might be short-lived. “I know we caught it in early November, we’ll see if it holds up throughout the rest of Christmas,” he said. “We kind of caught it on the Christmas downslide, not too many people are listening to Christmas music, so we jumped up in there.”
Despite the early timing, Jason was thrilled about the achievement. “I’ll take it where I can get it. It’s pretty amazing,” he added.
Jason Kelce reflects on collaborating with Stevie Nicks
The collaboration with Nicks, which was released on November 8, has been a highlight of Jason’s holiday season.
Reflecting on the experience, Jason called it “incredible” and said, “I mean, obviously I’m still in awe of the fact that that actually happened.” He continued, “There’s no percent chance that any song that I am in should be streaming No. 1 on any service, in any genre.”
Travis, always the playful brother, interrupted with a laugh, “Yeah, well don’t give yourself too much credit, Stevie Nicks.” Jason agreed, chuckling, “That’s exactly right. Good point!”
The holiday track is part of Jason’s upcoming album 'A Philly Special Christmas Party', which features a Philadelphia-themed collection of Christmas songs. The album is set to be released on November 22.
Jason Kelce teases collaboration with Stevie Nicks
Jason Kelce had previously teased the collaboration with Nicks on Instagram, sharing a photo of the two in a recording studio back in October. At the time, he described the experience as “pretty crazy” and “absolutely unreal,” adding that Nicks is “probably the most legendary female singer.”

Meanwhile, Carey’s 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' continues to be one of the most enduring holiday songs. Since its release in 1994, the song has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks in 2019 and holds the record for the longest reign on the Billboard Holiday 100, with 60 cumulative weeks from 2015 to 2023.
