OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI: Vice President JD Vance and Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk sparked 2028 ticket speculation after they were photographed together at the University of Mississippi event on Thursday, October 30.

It was one of the organization’s first major public events after its founder Charlie Kirk’s tragic death last month.

Vance and Erika were at Ole Miss for the first stop of the This is the Turning Point Tour.

The event, held at the Sandy and John Black Pavilion, drew a crowd estimated at around 10,000 people, according to local and national reports.

JD Vance and Erika Kirk were seen sharing a warm embrace, photos of which quickly went viral on social media. Photos of the pair, including one showing them sharing a hug, quickly went viral, sparking intense speculation about their political futures.

There was widespread discussion about them running together for the 2028 presidential race online.

A person went as far as to confidently predict, “Calling it now — a JD Vance and Erika Kirk ticket in 2028.”

"Look out for JD Vance/Erika Kirk 2028," said one more.

Another social media user claimed, “Erika Kirk will seal the presidential ticket for JD Vance. Save this post.”

Rising sentiments for JD Vance and Erika Kirk

Speculation about the two potentially running together has been circulating for some time, with social media users consistently expressing support for the duo.

One social media user had already predicted back on October 16, “Spoiler alert: JD Vance will choose Erika Kirk as his running mate when he launches his presidential bid in 2028.”

Another X user claimed back in September, “JD Vance-Erika Kirk 2028 ticket will be unbeatable.”

One more remarked, “There’s a lot of momentum building around the idea of Erika Kirk serving as JD Vance’s running mate when he runs for president in 2028. Wouldn’t that be something?!”

Chants of “48,” a nod to hopes of JD Vance becoming the 48th president, echoed through the crowd, heightening the excitement at the Ole Miss TPUSA event.

One user commented, “Truly unprecedented. One of the best moments was the crowd chanting ‘48, 48, 48.’”

Given Erika's expanding influence and dedicated following, her public support for Vance has intensified speculation that she may play a significant role in his prospective campaign.

With speculation already circulating that Vance may choose her as his running mate, her involvement is seen as adding both credibility and momentum to the growing movement surrounding him.

Even as early as last month, one user wrote, “Just saw someone suggesting a Vance/Kirk presidential run in 2028. I don’t necessarily think that will happen, but I’m in love with the idea.”

Turning Point USA’s political influence is a major factor driving this speculation, as the organization played a pivotal role in the previous election cycle.

For Erika, this represents a swift rise into the political spotlight.

She assumed leadership of TPUSA after her husband Charlie's death and has since garnered support from the conservative base in her new position.

With posts like “This is my choice! Vance & Kirk 2028,” online support for the duo is growing.

Rumors are also growing about Vance potentially launching a presidential bid alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Vance has dismissed the notion as of now.

Similarly, Erika has not indicated any intention to seek public office in the US government at this time.
