WASHINGTON, DC: Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance cautioned Americans not to "buy" Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' policy statements in her first sit-down interview since announcing her 2024 campaign as he believes she is "flip-flopping" on important subjects.

Vance criticized Harris' performance in the CNN interview that aired on 'Fox & Friends', saying that she was merely acting more moderate in order to win over more votes before the election in November.

JD Vance says Kamala Harris 'governed as a far-left person'

"I think it's important for us not to buy this," JD Vance said on Friday, August 30.

"If you look at the way that Kamala Harris has governed, she's actually governed as a far-left person. She's just trying to pretend that she's not far left now because, of course, she wants to win the American people's votes over the next couple of months. But if she does, she's going to do the same thing that she's been doing for the last few years," he added.

Vance chastised her for "flip-flopping" on a number of subjects and threatened to implement a Harris administration that would see increased costs of living, an open border, and increased dangers for Americans.

"It's really absurd for Kamala Harris to sit there and say, 'Well, I don't actually believe in any of the things that I told you I believed three years ago.' She has governed as a person who believes those things, and unfortunately, the American people are far off because of it," he continued, per Fox News

Kamala Harris returns to media for first time since becoming Democratic presidential nominee

Kamala Harris' much-awaited interview is her first since she was declared the likely nominee 39 days ago.

Since joining the Democratic ticket, Harris has mostly stayed out of the media spotlight, seldom responding to inquiries from the press when out on the campaign trail and refusing to host press conferences.

Harris, along with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, participated in a pre-recorded interview with CNN's Dana Bash, which was broadcast on Thursday.

Kamala Harris claims her 'values have not changed' during the interview

Kamala Harris stated to Dana Bash in the interview that her "values have not changed," in spite of the claims made by detractors on several significant issues.

"If you have the same values, why have you changed your mind on literally every topic that you previously held an opinion on?" Vance questioned.

"She should have to sit and answer tough questions about why she's changed her mind," he argued. "I think she answered one question yesterday about how she changed her mind. It was a bit of a word salad, and I don't think it actually gave Americans any insight into who Kamala Harris really is."

JD Vance also accuses media of enabling Kamala Harris

JD Vance also charged that the press was aiding and abetting Kamala Harris, claiming that the mainstream media had mostly refrained from pressuring the Democratic presidential candidate on matters on which she had seemed to have second thoughts.

"The media is so desperate to let her get away with this, that they don't even push her on the fact that she's changed her mind, allegedly on eight different topics," Vance said. "The proof is in the pudding. Kamala Harris can say that she's changed her mind on American energy, or changed her mind on police, or changed her mind on immigration."

"She is the sitting vice president of the United States. If she's changed her mind, why doesn't she enact these policies now and make Americans better off? I don't think she believes it, which is why you're not seeing it in what she's doing," he continued.

JD Vance feels bad for Kamala Harris after her interview

After the interview, JD Vance said he felt "bad" for Kamala Harris, implying that she didn't seem to know what policies she stood for.

"It's clear that she doesn't have very strong convictions. I actually, even though I'm running against her, I felt a little bad for her because it was clear that she wasn't totally sure-footed, and she didn't totally know why she was saying the things that she was saying," Vance said. "She's been coached to pretend to be a moderate."

"Unfortunately, guys, she's governed as a San Francisco liberal, and because of it, Americans are poor, the world is more chaotic and our border is wide open," he continued. "We've got to take this country in a new direction, which is why we've got to elect Donald Trump."

Internet backs JD Vance, rips Kamala Harris following her CNN interview

Netizens slammed the US Vice President for her policy stances during the CNN interview.

One X user tweeted, "FLIP FLOP KAMALA I’ll say it over and over again. She can’t become president. VOTE TRUMP!"

Another added, "Kamala’s Flip-Flopping Is Like a Jenga Tower in an Earthquake. She keeps pulling out blocks to try and rebuild it, but every move just makes the whole thing more unstable, and it’s only a matter of time before it all collapses."

"Her policies and practices are what they have been as Senator and as VP. Marxist leaning, nation killing, stupidity. She reminds me of my dog who returns home smelling awful and tells me with his eyes that he did not roll around in cow poop," jibed one.

"Kamala is going to lose. Trump, hands down, will beat her in a landslide victory," wrote someone else.
