LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jelly Roll, the rapper known for his raw honesty, recently opened up about the personal struggles that led to his incredible weight loss journey.

Jelly Roll opens up about fitness journey and overcoming health struggles

Jelly Roll shared an inspiring video on his official Instagram with his 3.9 million followers. In the inspiring post, he opened up about his fitness journey and how far he’s come.

Reflecting on his past struggles, he explained how walking to his mailbox was once a challenge, particularly when he weighed 550 pounds.

He said, “What’s up y’all, it’s been a long time since I came back and just had a straight look at y’all and talked to y’all. We are training for our second 5k. A little bit over a year ago, I was, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox. I mean, it was really bad. And I had let myself get to a point of just being absolutely disgusted with myself."

Recalling his frustration with his health, the rapper continued, "I was just sick and tired of it, and I was like, man, I’m gonna figure this out. About the time I was trying to find something to motivate me, I had seen that Burt and tom Segura had teased doing a 5k by May."

"And I knew right then if there was ever a place that I was gonna feel safe to try to do my first 5k, it was gonna be at the Two Bears 5k,” he added.

He informed his fans that he is launching a Facebook group, where they can share health and wellness tips, and mentioned that they're using the word "run" loosely, reflecting on how challenging the experience was for him during his first attempt, Whiskeyriff reported.

Jelly Roll says he's 'happier' with life now

Jelly Roll also revealed how "embarrassed" he felt earlier, adding that he was "sucking snot and air every time I walked down the driveway," but shared how much better he feels now, a year after making significant lifestyle changes.

He further stated, “I can’t even begin to describe to people how much better, how much more mentally focused I am, how clear-headed I am, more energetic I am, the happier I am with life in general now that I’m eating healthy exercising, cold plunging.

The rapper added, "It’s possible y’all. It’s not overwhelming, it’s just dedicating a little time every day and a little more time than you did before the next day.”
