WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Jen Psaki is facing backlash for speaking highly of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff's role in reshaping the "perception of masculinity" during an interview that aired on Sunday, September 29.

The former White House press secretary described Emhoff as "an incredibly supportive spouse." However, the Daily Mail commented on the irony after revealing months ago that Emhoff cheated on his first wife with their children's nanny, getting the latter pregnant and effectively ending his marriage.

Jen Psaki praises Doug Emhoff during interview

During the interview, Jen Psaki commended Doug Emhoff for being incredibly supportive of Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, who is now set to face GOP nominee Donald Trump in the upcoming general election.

"Something that has always - there has also been an important part, an interesting part of how people have talked about your role here is - how your role has reshaped the perception of masculinity," shared the host. "And I'm not sure you've planned on that but you are an incredibly supportive spouse."

"Has that been an evolution for you, and do you think that's part of the role you might play as first gentleman?" she asked.

"It's funny, I've started to think a lot about this. I've always been like this, my dad was like this, and to me it's the right thing to do, you know, support women - it's mutual, with Kamala and I. We support each other, we have each other's back" replied Emhoff.

"I've said it many times when we lift up women, we support women, whether it's pay equity, childcare, family leave, and all these issues... Women should not be less than, women should not have less rights and be treated differently, that's not the American way," he added.

Later when asked if Trump was afraid to face Harris for another presidential debate, Emhoff confidently replied that it may very well be the case.

Conservatives slam Jen Psaki and Doug Emhoff

Netizens, especially MAGA supporters, took to X to slam Jen Psaki for praising Doug Emhoff's apparent redefinition of masculinity.

"There is nothing masculine about Doug," wrote an X user.

"Stop it! This man is walking estrogen! Guarantee he drinks soy!" added another.

"This has to be satire," commented one person.

"Nice way to say Kamala ‘s husband Doug Emgoff gives the perception of the absence of masculinity and the reality he is a far left, lawfare lawyer that can’t dance," added another.

"Psaki’s claim is laughable. Doug hasn’t reshaped anything—real masculinity doesn’t need a PR campaign!" expressed one individual.

"You mean he has cast off any signs of masculinity? Unless cheating on your wife & knocking up the nanny makes you masculine," added another.
