WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC’s Jen Psaki recently asked second gentleman Doug Emhoff if he felt that Donald Trump's controversial remarks were endangering the safety of Jewish Americans.

The former president’s inflammatory comments, warning that Jewish voters would be partly to blame if he lost the 2024 election to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, sparked outrage.

Emhoff, who is the first Jewish spouse of a US Vice President, delivered a strong and unequivocal response, as reported by HuffPost.

Doug Emhoff leaves no room for ambiguity about his stance on Donald Trump’s rhetoric

When asked if he believed Donald Trump’s comments were putting "a target on the backs of Jewish Americans," Doug Emhoff did not mince words. He stated, "He is."

Emhoff’s reply was direct, leaving no room for ambiguity about his stance on Trump’s rhetoric.

Emhoff further elaborated, "Take him at his word. He lies about a lot of things, but you gotta take him at his word on things like this. So, yeah, this is a disgusting trope, this so-called dual loyalties. It’s an outrage. And it’s not just Jewish people that should be outraged."

Emhoff’s comments followed a pattern of antisemitic remarks from Trump, including his statement that any Jewish American who voted for Harris was a "fool" and "should have their head examined."

Trump even warned that Jewish voters would bear responsibility for his potential loss in the election. "The Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss. It’s only because of the Democrat hold, or curse, on you," he claimed.

Psaki then posed the question of whether Emhoff viewed Trump’s statements as antisemitic. Emhoff’s answer was unwavering: "Of course it is."

His clear condemnation highlights his ongoing role in combating antisemitism, not only through his position as second gentleman but also through his public activism.

Emhoff has long been vocal in his efforts to combat antisemitism, using his platform to raise awareness and advocate for change.

Earlier this year, he referred to Trump as "a known antisemite" after the former president shared a video online with references to a "unified Reich," further deepening concerns about Trump’s use of antisemitic tropes.
