WASHINGTON, DC: Conspiracy theories are heating up over Donald Trump’s mysterious week-long break from the spotlight, and now, MSNBC host Jen Psaki is weighing in.

During a recent MSNBC segment, former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki suggested that Trump’s hiatus could be driven by political concerns, such as poor polling. She also warned viewers not to believe unfounded conspiracy theories about his health.

What did Jen Psaki claim about Trump's one-week hiatus?

Jen Psaki weighed in on Donald Trump’s recent absence from the public eye, delivering a sharp monologue during her latest segment. She began, “Now, just to be clear, we went in just a very quick span there."

Reflecting on Trump’s conflicting statements about rumors of his death, Psaki said, "We went from Trump saying he hadn't heard about the rumors of his death, to Trump saying he did hear about them from reports, to then back to Trump saying he hadn't heard anything about any of it, in the span of approximately 60 seconds in the Oval Office today. Really can't make this stuff up sometimes.”

Psaki questioned the president’s motives for disappearing from public view for nearly a week, suggesting no conspiracy theories were needed to explain it. “And look, we may never know why Donald Trump suddenly spent a week hiding entirely from the American public, but you don't actually need baseless online conspiracies to explain why he might not want to show his face in public right now,” she noted.

One of those reasons, she said, is bleak polling data. "For starters, there's the polling, and boy, is it brutal. Americans are more and more pessimistic about their lives right now," she claimed.

Citing a newly released Wall Street Journal poll, Psaki pointed out, "the percentage of Americans who think they have a good chance of improving their standard of living has fallen to just 25 percent, which is a new low in nearly four decades of polling that particular question."

Internet reacts to Jen Psaki's remarks about Trump's absence

Shortly after a video of Jen Psaki discussing Trump’s mysterious absence went viral, social media erupted with reactions, many mocking and referencing her past statements.

One user quipped, “This is the same clown who said she never saw Joe Biden's mental decline until his debate with Trump. 🤡🤡🤡🤡”

Another user retorted, “I believe that he said that he heard speculation that he was unwell, but not that he was no longer living. If she’s talking, she’s lying. Pathetic."

Some comments were even more scathing. “These people are an absolute joke.... yeah, take if from them the people that knowingly LIED about Bidens health for at least 3 years. Disgusting,” wrote one commenter.

Another mocked, “I’m sure this segment was a big hit for the 7 people that watch her show. 😂 She’s getting another demotion soon.”

Criticism continued, with users lamenting Psaki’s presence on air, “She shouldn’t be on air.”

Some joked about her delivery: “Her stunning powers of observation…🤣😂🦯.”

Another added, “She’s clearly just reading off a script.”

Amid the snark, one commenter offered a different take, “Jen has some insight of what to watch for. She was around the Pres. Biden's dementia. Trump is showing the same behaviors so she's calling him out."
