LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of MSNBC's 'Inside With Jen Psaki', former White House press secretary Jen Psaki addressed mounting speculation about President Joe Biden's future in the 2024 election race.

Psaki, known for her candid analysis, defended her former boss while conceding that questions about replacing him are legitimate and persistent.

Jen Psaki reflects on Joe Biden's debate performance and campaign challenges

During the show, Psaki reflected on Biden's recent debate performance against Donald Trump, acknowledging widespread criticism of his ability to articulate coherent policy positions. She described the event as a challenging night for the Biden campaign, admitting that even Democratic insiders recognize the gravity of the situation.

"Joe Biden had a very bad night on Thursday," Psaki remarked.

"There is no one that Democratic lawmakers, not Biden campaign officials, not Joe Biden himself, who would tell you that he had a good night or they shouldn’t tell you that."

Psaki highlighted concerns that have plagued Biden since the start of his reelection campaign, particularly regarding his age and ability to campaign effectively.

"The biggest concern about the president from the moment this reelection campaign started was about his age and his ability to campaign effectively. The campaign wanted to have a debate early to shake up the race and silence those concerns."

"Instead, the president made them much louder, and his performance, or lack thereof, at many moments, also completely overshadowed what was a complete torrent of lies from Donald Trump, but some crazy language," she said.

Jen Psaki acknowledges Democratic party's internal turmoil and Joe Biden's resilience

The MSNBC host didn't shy away from acknowledging the internal turmoil within the Democratic Party following the debate. She cited David Plouffe, a prominent political strategist, who characterized the situation as a "Defcon 1 moment".

"My old boss, David Plouffe, who I’m going to talk to in just a minute, and is one of the smartest political minds in the country, called it a Defcon 1 moment that night. And he was right. It was. I mean, within the first 10 minutes of that debate, the question was being asked here in Washington and Capitol Hill, offices and group chats all over my phone and editorial meetings across the country: Whether Joe Biden should carry on as the Democratic nominee."

She further said, "And our job is not to ignore those questions because they are real, they are valid, and they aren’t going away."

She pointed out that Biden and his campaign remain committed to the ongoing electoral battle, despite the scrutiny and calls for a change.

Psaki concluded by addressing Biden's current activities, noting his retreat to Camp David for a family gathering.

"Today, the president is at Camp David with his family for a photo shoot. The trip was pre-planned and announced a week ago, and honestly did not raise any alarm bells to me. But its existence has fueled a lot of speculation about what they might discuss, given how close his family and how important his family’s to him."

"And the speculation is not going to stop anytime soon. But right now, it’s also important to remember there is no real indication that Joe Biden plans to step aside, and he and the campaign seem to be quite invested in the fight to keep going."

Internet reacts as Joe Biden has no plans to drop out of race

There was a flurry of reactions to the presidential debate, Biden's dismal performance and the calls for him to pull out of the race.

One user wrote, "MAGA is anti American."

Another user said, "Jill: Stands by her man, backs Joe to the hilt. Donnie Dirt: Where in the world is the globe trotter Melanomia?"

One added, "Dementia Joe is toast. Simple as that. Expect American Psycho Newsom along with Big Mike to be on the ticket soon."

One user commented, "Conservatives are starting to freak out… because their constant raging on how Biden needs to dropout shows how scared they are of him."

Another user said, "She is one of the ones who has been lying about his health!"

One replied, "Remember when Psaki told everyone inflation was transitory? Her job is to lie."

Another wrote, "Only gonna last about 6 months she said…"

One user stated, "Jen is one of the biggest enablers of them all."
