Jenna Ortega clears 'insane' rumor about her and Johnny Depp

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jenna Ortega has recently opened up about a wild rumor she heard about herself and Johnny Depp.

The 21-year-old appeared in a new BuzzFeed Puppy interview on Monday, August 26, where she was asked about the “craziest rumor” she’s heard about herself.

She answered, as per Us Weekly, “Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp and I wanted everybody to leave us alone. It’s so insane to me. I never said anything like that.”

“I thought that that was pretty hilarious. I was on set with Richard E Grant and he came up to me and he said, ‘Oh, so you and Johnny…’ and I laughed because I don’t know that person,” the ‘Wednesday’ star added.

In 2023 also, Ortega cleared up the rumor via her Instagram Stories as she reportedly wrote, “This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh. I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”

Johnny Depp denied knowing Jenna Ortega

At the time, Depp’s representative said, as per NME, “Mr Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her. He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be.”

“He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career,” they added.

Meanwhile, people have reacted to Ortega’s response on Facebook with a person saying, “How many times y'all said that she's in a relationship with Johnny! She's not!”

The third defending the actress mentioned, “What she meant was she doesn't know Johnny personally 💀 ya'll ballin of course she knows Johnny as an actor.”
