Jennie Garth calls out Oscars for omitting Shannen Doherty from 'In Memoriam' tribute: 'That's messed up'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennie Garth, a longtime friend and former co-star of late actress Shannen Doherty, publicly condemned the omission of Doherty from Oscars 2025 'In Memoriam' segment.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences faced backlash following the ceremony for excluding Doherty, which Garth called as "a disrespectful oversight."

Garth was approached by TMZ while in New York and was asked about the Academy’s decision to leave out Doherty from the televised tribute.
In a video posted on March 5, Garth responded bluntly, "Yeah, that's messed up."
When further questioned on whether the Academy should consider issuing an apology, Garth firmly agreed.
While the Oscars’ broadcast failed to include Doherty in the tribute montage, her name and image were reportedly included in the official ‘In Memoriam’ database on the Academy’s website.
However, this did little to quell the disappointment of fans and colleagues who expected to see her honored during the televised ceremony.
