LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: According to a skincare specialist, Jennifer Aniston appeared to have undergone some rejuvenating skin treatments after visiting a cosmetic surgery center.

When Aniston walked the red carpet to promote her 'The Morning Show' in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 5, there were speculations that she had undergone plastic surgery owing to a swollen area below her left eye.

The 'Friends' actress stunned at a chic celebration of her popular series 'The Morning Shows' as she flaunted her trim form on the red carpet in a red flowery dress.

However, fans said the 55-year-old appeared "tired" compared to normal, adding that she had puffier lips and a swollen region beneath her left eye.

According to a plastic surgeon, Aniston's latest appearance is the result of an improper cosmetic treatment, or what he dubbed "filler gone wrong."

Dr Richard Devine claimed the cause is most likely an excessive amount of gel-like material that was injected into the tear trough, which is the space between the cheek and lower eyelid.

Celebrities and anti-agers alike favor tear trough filler for its ability to alleviate drooping, crow's feet, and bags under the eyes, per Daily Mail.

Devine said in a social media clip, "What we're seeing here is tear trough filler gone wrong. Complications like this happen when too much filler is injected, or when the type of product used attracts too much water — and so... the area becomes swollen."

"The filler is projecting so much that it is actually causing these shadows to form around the eyes and these deep ridges in the mid-cheek, which is actually making her look more tired and aged," Devine added.

Because fat cells gradually go from the face as we age, the area beneath the eyes might naturally begin appearing more sunken in.

Many people get filler in the tear trough area, which is the groove that extends from the bottom of the inner eyelid to the cheek, to counteract this.

Hyaluronic acid is a common filler used by surgeons; it works by drawing water to the area to give it a plumper appearance. However, it usually takes a few days to settle.

Jennifer Aniston earlier admitted plastic surgery was a 'slippery slope'

In 2011, Aniston made a suggestion that she had used fillers, stating, "I'm not saying that I haven't tried it... but I see how it's a slippery slope."

Although the 'Friends' star hasn't spoken about fillers in a while, several doctors have conjectured that she has been using them; just last month, one of them said that the star's face now looks "overfilled."

There have also been rumors that she received filler in her lips and nasolabial fold, which is the line that connects the corner of her mouth to the edge of her nose.

According to aesthetics specialist Amish Patel, the actress appeared "slightly puffy" in photos from the latest event for her show.

Speaking to The Mirror, Patel said: "Jennifer looks different in these latest photos, but it's hard to say exactly what she might have done. The only observation in this set of pictures is that she looks slightly puffy in the mid-face/cheek area, but this could be due to the lighting and photography angle."

"It may be that Jennifer has had some rejuvenating non-invasive skin treatments for her latest glow up but if she has had anything done, it looks very natural," Patel claimed.

Eagle-eyed netizens react to Jennifer Aniston's 'puffy' look

Fans and followers were divided over Aniston's latest look, as one X (formerly Twitter) user criticized the look and wrote, "I don't know how people believe this is a woman"

Another commented, echoing a similar sentiment, "As they age, the dude shows up"

"Its been like 30y since Friends dude. the wrinkles are finally outrunning the surgeries," remarked another

Others flocked to defend the beloved actress as one said, "Sir, women come in different shapes and sizes. We also age too. She is 55 and looks great for her age."

Another exclaimed, "She is 1000% a woman….. grow up, people age & their body changes."

"What is wrong with you? She’s not 30 anymore. She still looks amazing. What’s your point?" remarked another user.
