Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck avoid unpleasant run-in by minutes at shared LA office amid 'ugly' divorce
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, going through a contentious divorce battle, were spotted at their shared office in Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 4, just minutes part.
The duo were spotted on Wednesday outside their shared Los Angeles office building only 30 minutes apart, narrowly avoiding an unpleasant run-in.
Despite Bennifer's ability to keep a cordial relationship after their split, there are rumors that their divorce could turn ugly because they failed to execute a prenuptial agreement.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had dramatic reunion amid purported 'ugly' divorce
Despite living separately and going through a high-profile divorce, Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, continue to share their office building in Los Angeles where they recently almost avoided an unpleasant encounter.
The 'On the Floor' hitmaker was photographed stepping into the building with a serious sigh while her estranged actor-husband could be seen driving away in his car shortly after she arrived.
Lopez — who filed for divorce from Affleck at the end of August — arrived at the office with her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, after having lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She exuded vibrancy with her vivid green top and skirt combination.
Lopez wore a flowing maxi skirt, a patterned shirt, and green pumps to complete her all-green ensemble. She added gold hoops and a pink $1,897 Valentino Garavani purse as accessories, per Page Six.
Meanwhile, Affleck was seen driving his black car out of the workplace while wearing a gray suit jacket over a lilac dress shirt. His face was partially stubbled.
The couple — who haven't been spotted together in public since she filed for divorce last month — are apparently both eager to move on from their two-year marriage.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's divorce could get 'ugly'
Speculation regarding the state of Affleck and Lopez's relationship and the difficulties they might have in their divorce process has increased since they were spotted together.
Although Bennifer has not released any formal statements, a source told People on Tuesday, September 3, that the absence of a prenuptial agreement means that their divorce "has the potential to get ugly."
A source claimed that "there are some sticking points over financials" although Lopez and Affleck are currently in mediation with prominent divorce lawyer Laura Wasser (whose previous clients include Kim Kardashian and Kevin Costner).
As the couple was married in July 2022 in Las Vegas without signing a marriage contract, whatever they created, acquired, and possessed together is regarded as joint property.
However, Lopez claimed in her August 20 divorce filing that she was "unknown" about her assets. The pop diva is expected to have an incredible $400 million in net worth by 2024.
According to California state law, only the money Lopez and Affleck made or the possessions they accumulated during their two-year marriage would be deemed community property.
Besides the couple's attempts to resolve financial issues, sources have revealed that Lopez and Affleck's split was partly caused by their stark differences in personality.
Despite listing their $68 million Beverly Hills marital residence on the market more than a month ago, Lopez and Affleck continue to make efforts to sell it, per Daily Mail.
According to a source who spoke, the 'Air' actor is currently "slowly moving into his new home," which is "where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves."
Affleck paid $20.5 million for a posh Pacific Palisades apartment in July, although he presently pays $100,000 a month for a rental house in Brentwood, California.
It was previously stated that because his and Lopez's opulent $60 million Los Angeles estate was "too far" from his children, Affleck — who shares children Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — never felt at home there.
