JLo 'furious' at Matt Damon, Jennifer Garner for backing Ben Affleck amid marital strife, claims source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The distance between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has strained relationships with their friends and family in addition to their own.

Insiders claimed that the 'Get Right' singer, 54, has been "furious" at Matt Damon, Jennifer Garner, and her mother-in-law, Christine Anne Boldt, for standing by the 'Argo' actor, 51, after their romance hit a rough patch.

Following a difficult period in his relationship with Lopez, Affleck appears to be getting more support from his friends and family rather than reaching out to each other to resolve his marital problems.

Insiders claimed that Lopez has been feeling a strong sense of betrayal from people she formerly thought to be her closest allies at this trying time.

Lopez believed that tthree people—including Affleck's mother, Christine Anne—have deceived her the most, and she is tired of their phony, conciliatory smiles, the source further claimed.

The insider alleged, "JLo’s relationship with Christine has always been tense."

"Christine’s extremely close to Ben’s first wife, Jennifer Garner, and thinks he made the biggest mistake of his life by letting her go," per OK! Magazine.

Lopez is said to be paranoid about who is at fault because of the relationships that currently exist within the family.

"JLo can't help but think Christine is poisoning his head against her and thinks it's pathetic that Ben's run back to his mommy," the insider added.

The 'Get Right' singer is displeased with Affleck's close friends, Damon and Garner, as well. "She’s furious with everyone on Team Ben, including Matt Damon and Jen," the source revealed.

The Latin superstar and film producer—who wed in 2022—have been feeling the "pressure" after a year of marriage, as OK! Magazine previously reported. A source declared at the time, "The honeymoon phase is over."

According to reports, Affleck, a father of three, has been seeking counsel from his longtime friend Matt Damon, 53, as he and his wife Lopez work to save their union.

"Ben is sad about it all but focused on his work, being a great dad and co-parenting well with Jennifer Garner," a source previously said.

The source added: "He has been leaning on Matt Damon and his close circle of guy friends. Matt is always in Ben’s corner and is supportive of him," per OK! Magazine.

It was previously reported by OK! Magazine that Damon wasn't the biggest fan of the 'Maid in Manhattan' alum before Affleck and Lopez tied the knot in 2022.

Another insider continued, "Matt's had serious reservations about Bennifer 2.0 since the beginning."

"He’s tried to be publicly supportive for Ben’s sake, but the fact is he hates the way JLo treats his buddy and can no longer hold his tongue!"

The source added, "It's no secret Ben and JLo haven't been getting along, as he always seems to be in the doghouse."

Before the public knowledge of Affleck and Lopez's problems spread, the insider stated of Damon, "Seeing his pal out there posing on one red carpet after another, totally playing up this role as JLo's arm candy, makes Matt nauseous. He can't stand to see her emasculate Ben."

"Ben is sad about it all but focused on his work, being a great dad and co-parenting well with Jennifer Garner," a different insider said.
