Jennifer Lopez once revealed she was desperate to work with Johnny Depp: 'I want him that badly'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez was once so ‘desperate’ to work with Johnny Depp that she was ready to portray the role of a toothless and eyepatch-wearing pirate if that meant having the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star as her co-star.
The 55-year-old entertainment diva has worked with her fair share of Hollywood hunks, including Ralph Fiennes in ‘Maid in Manhattan’, Matthew McConaughey in ‘The Wedding Planner’, Josh Duhamel in ‘Shotgun Wedding’, and of course her ex Ben Affleck, with whom she shared the screen in their 2003 movie ‘Gigli’.
However, the ‘Jenny From the Block’ star had a dream of sharing the screen with Johnny Depp which has yet to materialize.

As Jennifer Lopez is enjoying her singlehood after filing for divorce from her Oscar-winning ex, Ben Affleck, the ‘Hustlers’ star’s intent to work with Johnny Depp has resurfaced.
Back in 2010, the Bronx diva admitted that though she had “worked with a lot of hot leading men,” working with the ‘Beetlejuice’ star would be mind-blowing.
Speaking to Daily Star, as reported by Digital Spy, Lopez said, "I've been seriously lucky with my roles. I've worked with a lot of hot leading men, but I'm desperate to get Johnny.”
She cherished the prospect of working with Depp so much that she even admitted, “Working with him would be out of this world.”
So, how far would she have gone to achieve the goal? Well, the glamorous diva was ready to trade her designer dresses for the garb of a toothless, eyepatch-wearing pirate.
"I'd even be a pirate with no teeth and wear an eyepatch if it meant I could work with him,” confessed Lopez, before adding, “I want him that badly."
When ‘The Mother’ star’s interview came out in 2010, Depp was at the peak of his ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ career as Captain Jack Sparrow and was anticipating the third movie in the franchise, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ in 2011.
Considering the movie was already in the middle of production when Lopez’s interview came out, the actress had little chance of acting in that.
Unfortunately for Lopez, she was not a member of the stellar star of the 2017 film from the dashing pirate saga, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ as well.

While Jennifer Lopez’s dream of sharing the screen with the ‘Modi’ actor has yet to materialize, she did share a stage with him in 2006, when she presented an award to Johnny Depp during the 2nd Annual Noche de Ninos Gala, hosted by Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Depp received the prestigious "Courage to Care" award for his contributions to the entertainment industry and his charity work for the betterment of children’s lives, as reported by The List.
On the work front, the ‘Unstoppable’ actress and the ‘Sleepy Hollow’ star once competed against each other in the box office in 2015. During the same weekend in 2015, Lopez’s film ‘The Boy Next Door’ and Depp’s ‘Mortdecai’ were released with Lopez’s film winning the box office battle, per The Wrap.
While it is not known whether she still harbors the same desire for working with the ‘Jeanne du Barry’ star, if it materializes, it would certainly be one of the spectacular films to watch.
