NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jennifer Lopez has recently shared how she is transforming "hardships" into opportunities for growth, particularly as she navigates her recent divorce from Ben Affleck.

Jennifer Lopez embraces hardships and looks at the positive outcome

“I think the way I overcome things is not by thinking of them as happening to me but happening for me and what is the lesson that needs to be learned in the moment,” Jennifer Lopez said, reflecting on how she handles adversity.

Her approach to hardships, as she explained, centers on maintaining a positive outlook, Page Six reported.

“When I think of things that way and stay in a kind of a more positive mindset about it, it’s easier to kind of embrace it for the lesson that it is,” she shared, adding, “Because that’s really what our hardships are in life. What am I supposed to learn here?”

For Lopez, life’s trials are no coincidence.“There are no coincidences. This is not happening, you know, just randomly. It’s happening for a reason,” she emphasized.

To process these moments, the star revealed she often asks herself, “What can I learn and how can I come out the other side better, stronger, more knowledgeable and kind of evolve and grow from this point?”

Jennifer Lopez reflects on post-divorce growth

During a conversation with Interview magazine, Jennifer Lopez, 55, delved deeper into the lessons she has learned after divorce.

Reflecting on her journey, she admitted it took her some time to fully embrace the growth that comes from difficult moments.

“I think to myself … ‘Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it,’” she said.

Lopez said that her most profound realization has been discovering her ability to find joy and happiness within herself, saying that she is “capable of joy and happiness” on her own.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck prioritize family after divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, 52, first became a Hollywood power couple in 2002 after meeting on the set of 'Gigli.'

Their whirlwind romance led to an engagement the same year, but mounting media pressure ultimately caused the pair to split in 2004.

Nearly two decades later, fate brought them back together and they tied the knot in 2022. However, by early 2024, rumors of marital trouble surfaced.

In July, reports revealed that Lopez and Affleck had been separated for months, with the 'Jenny from the Block' singer officially filing for divorce on August 20.

Court documents listed April 26 as their official date of separation.

Despite the end of their marriage, Lopez and Affleck have maintained an amicable relationship for the sake of their blended family.

The former couple recently joined Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, to support their children—Seraphina, 15, and Emme, 16—in a school play.

Page Six also reported that the pair remains committed to co-parenting and staying in each other’s lives.

“Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids,” an insider shared.
