LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck has been spotted sporting a shaved faux-hawk hairstyle while out and about in Los Angeles and sources have claimed that his estranged wife Jennifer Lopez has criticized his new look, calling it "desperately lame".

Affleck, 52, was seen sporting the new hairdo in pictures obtained by People. Sources asserted that Lopez, 55, did not like Affleck's imitation of Mohawk-style hair.

Affleck wore a black jacket over a black Red Hot Chili Peppers T-shirt and gray jeans to maintain a casual yet stylish look in a dark color scheme.

The Oscar winner added some flair to his look with a pair of silver and black aviators. The midday excursion also included footage of him cruising about on a blue electric motorcycle.

However, according to InTouch Weekly, the 'Jenny from the Block' singer criticized Affleck's new appearance, calling it "desperately lame."

The Daily Mail called the new appearance a "midlife crisis makeover".

A source with knowledge of Lopez's response to Affleck's hair told InTouch, "A member of Jen’s staff sent her a photo of Ben and her jaw just about hit the floor. She thinks it’s desperately lame, and that he’s clearly having a midlife crisis."

The news comes as the couple—who have been living apart since at least early June—continues to be the subject of divorce rumors, with TMZ claiming that their divorce is "imminent".

However, the couple has never acknowledged that they are experiencing marital issues, and no divorce papers have been filed as yet. But the pair attempted to sell their marital estate and TMZ claimed that Affleck was residing in a rental property in Brentwood, California.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, is rumored to have decided to call it quits after going through a difficult time in their marriage in recent months and being spotted out together without their wedding bands.

Jennifer Lopez is also reporetdly not happy with Ben Affleck's new shaved faux-hawk look, viewing it as an indication of a midlife crisis that she believes has exacerbated their marital issues.

The 55-year-old singer, according to an insider, has also voiced worries that her spouse has been distant lately, missing significant occasions and turning points in their life.

The source claimed, "She’s saying this clearly shows that Ben is clearly not in the right headspace and that he hasn’t been for some time," per InTouch Weekly.

"In her view, he looks so lost and kind of pathetic right now, it’s obvious to her that this is a cry for help but her hands are tied because he’s totally ghosted her."

The source added: "Why else would he toss aside a wonderful marriage and pull all these cruel moves like ignoring their anniversary, her birthday, the commitments and responsibilities they shared together including of course their beautiful blended family … it blows her mind."

"But the longer time goes on, the less she’s blaming herself for the mess she believes Ben alone has created."

According to the insider, "Ben’s not bothered if JLo or others want to judge him. He’s excited to have his life back and a fresh start ahead of him that’s dictated for him anymore."

Affleck has been candid about his earlier battles with consuming alcohol. He battled through relapses and sporadic stays in treatment facilities before deciding to kick the alcohol on his own after shooting 'Good Will Hunting' in 1997.

But in 2018, the actor again had to check into a rehab facility after his ex-wife Jennifer Garner organized an intervention for him.

Although there are no signs that the 'Air' actor has resumed his alcohol consumption, a close friend of the actor claimed that Lopez worries about her estranged husband's well-being in light of the drastic changes to his appearance.
