Jennifer Lopez's mother's furious reaction to possible Diddy reconciliation resurfaces after his arrest

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez's mother Guadalupe Rodriguez's irate reaction to her daughter possibly getting back with Sean "Diddy" Combs has resurfaced following the rapper's arrest.

An old video from the singer's 2015 appearance on 'The Wendy Williams Show' surfaced shortly after the disgraced music mogul was taken into custody on Monday, September 16 on trafficking charges.

On her famed chat show, Wendy Williams told Jennifer Lopez, "So if you recall, the last time you were here I was telling you that I could always see you getting back with Puffy in a little way."

The 'On the Floor' singer laughed and flung her head back, before responding, "I remember you said that." Notably, Lopez and Diddy, who used to use the moniker Puff Daddy, dated from 1999 to 2001. 

As the camera went to Lopez's mother, Guadalupe, who was seated among the audience, she angrily looked toward her famous daughter and yelled, "No!" while making a "cut it" hand signal, as per Daily Mail.

The idea of a reconciliation was well received by the majority of the studio audience, except for Guadalupe, who apparently gestured dismissively, as if to say, "It's done."

Lopez remarked on the audience's reaction, "It’s crazy, everybody came alive. They all had something to say." Williams noted that everyone had an opinion after observing the same reaction.

The host concluded the conversation with a tinge of disappointment, saying, "Alright, so no Puffy," as per Us Weekly.

It has long been known that Jennifer Lopez's mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, wasn't fond of her daughter's relationship with the controversial rapper.

When gunfire broke out inside a Times Square nightclub in December 1999, Lopez was there with Diddy. The two fled the scene, resulting in a police pursuit that end with their arrest. 

In an interview with the New York Post, former NYPD Detective Derrick Parker described what transpired when Guadalupe arrived at the police station looking for her daughter.

Parker told the outlet, "Her mother was yelling at JLo in Spanish and she was really mad at Jennifer. I heard her say, 'I told you not to get involved with (him).'"

Lopez was released without being charged after spending 14 hours in detention.

On Monday, Diddy was arrested in Manhattan about six months after federal agents raided his Miami and Los Angeles properties as part of a sex trafficking investigation.

According to a federal indictment that was unsealed in New York on Tuesday, Diddy has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and is being held without bail. 

The indictment follows a string of assault allegations against the record producer. 

In November 2023, his former longtime partner, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of violent abuse. However, the suit was settled in a day. 

This May, CNN published a surveillance video from 2016 in which Diddy appeared to violently grab, shove, drag, and kick his then-girlfriend Cassie in the hallway of a California hotel. 

At the time, the rapper issued an apology, saying, "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video."
