Jennifer Lopez's children 'hope to stay friends' with Ben Affleck's 3 kids after their parents' divorce

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A new source claimed that despite Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, her twins, Max and Emme, 16, and Affleck's three children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, have decided to stay connected.

The 'On the Floor' hitmaker is the mother of her twins, Max and Emme, whom she had with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, while the 'Argo' star shares his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

An insider recently told OK! Magazine that Lopez, 55, and her estranged husband's five children "hope to stay friends and in each other's lives' in the wake of their split," less than a month after the split was officially announced.

Following their divorce, Lopez and 52-year-old Affleck's only goal is for their children to understand "how loved they are and they will be supported on all sides as they navigate their new normal," the insider added.

Regarding the 'Air' actor and the 'Let's Get Loud' hitmaker's future plans following their divorce, the insider said, "Jennifer and Ben are both staying focused on work with current projects and new endeavors. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for everyone, but all parties are doing their best."

According to the source, Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner have managed to establish a harmonious co-parenting arrangement for their three children. "They are both very supportive of one another and always will be," the source added.

Before marrying the 'Elektra' actress over 20 years ago, Affleck was first engaged to Lopez, however, by early 2004, they had called off their wedding.

After calling off her initial engagement to Affleck, Lopez married Marc Anthony, the father of their twins, although they eventually divorced 10 years later.

The former couple had an intimate wedding with their loved ones in Georgia one month after their July 2022 wedding in Las Vegas.

After Lopez filed for divorce, a source informed Page Six that their children were prepared to move on from their split, adding, "His kids are taking it fine as are hers."

The 'Town' actor has been spending more time with his children after the split, including activities like going to the movies with Seraphina in Marina Del Rey, California, and joining Garner to drop Violet off to college at Yale.

Ben Affleck stayed with children while Jennifer Lopez attended TIFF

Ben Affleck was seen spending time with his children in Los Angeles, while his estranged wife headed to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to attend the premiere of their new film 'Unstoppable'.

Affleck was spotted out on Friday, September 6, with his two children, Samuel and Seraphina. He was casually dressed in gray trousers, a white T-shirt, and purple sneakers as the three of them had lunch together, reported Marca.com.

Affleck was seen in a suit earlier that day in Los Angeles when it appeared like he was headed to work. Lopez, meanwhile, strolled the red carpet at the Toronto premiere of 'Unstoppable'.

The songstress looked amazing at the event, donning a silver Tamara Ralph gown, Dolce & Gabbana platform shoes, and a metallic Judith Leiber purse.

Affleck did not, however, attend the premiere. According to insider information, Lopez and Affleck's pal Matt Damon had a lengthy conversation and shared laughs during the afterparty of the event.

The movie premiere was held weeks after Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, citing their separation date as April 26, which marked their two-year wedding anniversary in Georgia ceremony.

Despite Lopez's persistent efforts to spend time with his children after their divorce, Affleck has been reported to have lost contact with the singer's two children.

An insider earlier told People that although Lopez is "still close" to the actor's three children and Garner, Affleck "has not been in touch" with the singer's twins, Max and Emme.

The insider referred to Lopez's multiple summertime outings with her stepchildren as "the fact that he has not seen her kids in a long time — it’s like he left, but she is especially close to his kids."
