TORONTO, CANADA: Matt Damon might be Ben Affleck's best friend, but he's also close with Affleck's estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez.
At the premiere of their film 'Unstoppable', where Matt Damon is a producer and Jennifer Lopez plays the role of a wrestler's mother, Damon joined the 'Jenny From the Block' star. The two friends were seen engaging in a deep conversation.
An insider revealed that Matt Damon and Jennifer Lopez had a "deep conversation" at the 'Unstoppable' afterparty, held at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton, following the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

A source told People that Matt Damon and Jennifer Lopez spoke for over 20 minutes at the afterparty, following their group photo on the red carpet with the movie’s cast, including Don Cheadle, Jharrel Jerome, and Bobby Cannavale.
The insider revealed that Jennifer Lopez was sitting at a table with Matt Damon's wife, Luciana, and 'Unstoppable' costar Don Cheadle when Damon joined the group.
“Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation,” the source said.
The onlooker also noted that Damon seemed to offer support to Lopez by clasping hands with her and speaking seriously. Despite the serious moment, the two friends also shared some laughs together.
While Damon’s presence at the ‘Unstoppable’ premiere at the TIFF was speculated since August, his friend and co-producer of the film, Affleck was noticeably absent from the premiere.
The film is based on the real-life story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and defied the odds to win the NCAA national championship in 2011. Produced by Affleck and Damon’s Artists Equity, the film features Lopez in the role of Anthony’s mother, Judy Robles.
For her first major red carpet appearance since filing for divorce from the 'Gone Girl' star on August 20, Lopez dazzled in a sparkling "revenge dress."
The mother of two donned a revealing metallic gown by Tamara Ralph for the event. She paired it with a matching silver Judith Leiber purse, Dolce & Gabbana platform heels and completed her look with jewelry from Hassanzadeh.
According to People, on the same day as the film’s premiere, her estranged husband was spotted in Los Angeles, out for a day in a navy blue suit.

After Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, which also marks the former couple’s second anniversary of their traditional wedding in Georgia, it was reported that she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce.
Sources close to Lopez and Affleck indicated that their split stemmed from difficulties in reconciling their differing personalities. A source told People, “They are very different people.”
They explained, “She’s super public and is more social, and he’s more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home.”
Additionally, another source mentioned that the 'Good Will Hunting' star was prone to "mood swings," experiencing "big highs and big lows." The source noted that there was a disparity between who he claimed to be and who he ultimately turned out to be.
“He doesn’t understand how his bad mood affects people around him,” added the insider.
