Jenny McCarthy reveals near-death experience of vegan diet, finds relief with carnivore lifestyle

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jenny McCarthy has revealed that she “almost died” after adopting a plant-based diet, prompting her to make a drastic change to her eating habits.
The 52-year-old actress shared her experience during an interview on the 'Heal Squad x Maria Menounos' podcast, where she detailed the severe health consequences she faced after cutting out animal products.

Jenny McCarthy explained that her attempt at going vegan turned into a nightmare, exacerbating pre-existing health issues and leaving her feeling weak and unwell.
“I tried vegan, and I almost died. I literally almost died,” she told host Maria Menounos.
“I became so ill from being a vegan,” the television personality added.
The former 'Masked Singer' judge suffers from multiple food intolerances, including celiac disease, a dairy allergy, and a soy allergy, which made finding adequate nutrition on a vegan diet nearly impossible.
“I can’t have carbs, and everything is a carb,” she said.
“I’m also allergic to soy, and everything [has soy],” she shared.
As a result, McCarthy experienced extreme exhaustion, digestive issues, and overall poor health.
“I was literally dying,” she admitted, adding, “I was exhausted and fatigued. I was a mess.”
Jenny McCarthy's battle multiple health conditions
Jenny McCarthy has long struggled with various medical conditions, including Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid, leaky gut syndrome, and Candida, a fungal infection that can lead to digestive problems and fatigue.
“Healing leaky gut and Candida can take years—it 100 percent takes years,” she explained.
“So I did all kinds of diets. I also have MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome), a histamine intolerance, so I went on a low-histamine diet. I tried every one of them," she said.
Jenny McCarthy reflects on turning to carnivore diet
After years of searching for the right nutritional approach, Jenny McCarthy’s “functional medicine doctor” suggested she try an all-meat diet.
Initially hesitant, she decided to give it a shot as she shared, “Last year, my doctor told me it was time to go full carnivore.”
While skeptical at first, McCarthy soon noticed a significant improvement in her health.

“I was like, ‘Ugh, okay.’ I mean, I’m from Chicago, so I can handle it, but it just felt very low vibrational [and] heavy for me,” she said.
“Like I was kind of more eating salmon and very light things like that, but I was like, ‘I might as well give it a try,” she added.
To her surprise, the diet produced transformative results.
“It has been f***ing incredible. It changed my energy and my digestion,” McCarthy noted.
Jenny McCarthy's claims of life-changing benefits of a meat-based diet
One of the most dramatic improvements Jenny McCarthy experienced was in her digestion, a problem she had battled since childhood.
“I have been a constipated little girl since I was young. From the time I was little, I’d have to get enemas,” she revealed.
Now, after switching to the carnivore diet, she says those struggles are gone.

“Since I started carnivore, I literally go every day without a laxative,” she shared.
Despite her success, McCarthy acknowledges that different diets work for different people.
“Some people work [and] heal better on a vegan diet, and some people don’t,” she said, according to Page Six.
“It’s what you believe, and you have to follow your intuition and also follow what your blood says or what your body says. Your body will let you know, by the way,” McCarthy added.
