Jeremy Renner accused of insulting Reno family after striking a relationship with their felon daughter

RENO, NEVADA: Jeremy Renner has been called out by a family from Reno after the Marvel actor allegedly insulted them following a romantic involvement with their felon daughter.

The 52-year-old ‘Avengers’ star reportedly struck a relationship with the Reno-based hairdresser Amber Monson, 34, after meeting her at a local nightclub in August.

The relationship, which allegedly started as a “purely sexual” one, transitioned into a more romantic one after they started video chatting.

Soon, Renner invited Monson and her family to his Lake Tahoe mansion where he reportedly insulted her, her mother and her aunt by calling them “f**king idiots,” per Daily Mail.

What are the accusations against Jeremy Renner?

Recently, Monson’s family shared with Daily Mail that the ‘Hawkeye’ actor reportedly sent Monson “d**k pics” which she then showed to her mother and aunt.

Monson’s brother Jason Nelms told the news outlet that the relationship between Renner and Monson started as purely sexual but soon transformed into a more romantic one after they started video chatting.

Their relationship, however, went downhill after Renner invited Monson and her family to a gathering in his Lake Tahoe property in November 2023, to celebrate his new Christmas album.

Nelms shared that the family was to meet with Renner’s parents and his daughter.

Things went south when Monson and her family could not find the entrance hidden on a back road at Mount Rose. Per Nelms, Renner purportedly called them "f**king idiots" on the phone and refused to come out to receive them.

Nelms claimed, “It's kind of out in the boonies where he lives,” before adding, “They're trying to drive out there and they're lost, they don't know where it's at. It's dark, the roads are icy and bad.”

He continued to narrate the family’s ordeal, as he said, “They're calling him up just trying to figure out where he's at.”

“And at one point he's like, ''What are you guys, f**king idiots? Do you not have a brain between the three of you?'',” shared Nelms.

He continued to narrate, “Nasty s**t like that. They said, ''At least come out to the driveway so we can see where you're at.'' He said ''No, I'm in my socks, you're messing up my chill.''”

Nelms shared that after Renner sent his nephew out to receive them, Monson along with her family could finally enter the house.

Nelms explained, “My family's standing back, and he's really coming off as a d**k. He was real cold to them. It was like, 'bow down',” before adding his disdain, “The whole thing was uncomfortable.”

Monson’s brother further shared that Renner appeared to be unfriendly as he refused to shake hands with them initially.

He recounted, “My mom's friend, she went up to him to try to shake his hand, and he just looked at her like who the f**k are you?” He continued, “My mom told him he was wasted and being an a**hole.”

“They decided to leave. They were outside, getting ready to go in the vehicle, when Renner's nephew comes out and says, ''Hey, all this will go away if you just apologize”,” narrated Nelms.

Pointing at the ludicrousness of the situation, Nelms explained, “My mom was like, ''Apologize? You want us to apologize? Seriously?''”

Nelms vented his anger as he recalled, “He's treated him like s**t, called them f**king idiots, then expects them to apologize like they're the ones in the wrong, because he's King Renner and you're supposed to bow down to him.”

Another brother of Monson, Dillon Overholt, 25, Renner and Monson “met downtown in Reno,” before adding, “They video chatted all the time.”

He noted, “One text from him says 'I'll come get you lover' with a heart, so yeah I'd say they were romantically involved.”

Saying that his family was “livid” at Renner’s treatment, he added, “He was super rude the whole time, he didn't get off the couch. It took him 10 minutes to get up and shake people's hands.”

He remarked, “If I was going to invite anybody over I would be humble and welcoming. Not acting like I'm a celebrity and you're just local people from Reno.”

Who is Amber Monson?

Per her Instagram bio, Amber Monson is a "Professional hair & make-up artist in Reno, NV." Additionally, she is a "Proud mother to an amazing Son."

Per Monson's brothers, she was seeing Jeremy Renner after meeting him at a nightclub in August 2023.

Monson. however, has a felony record from April 2021, when she reportedly took a government car, sped at 70 mph through Carson, Nevada, rammed into police cars, and made the sheriff's deputies chase her through a school zone, per Channel 2 News.

A total of eight cars were damaged in the incident. Per Daily Mail, Monson pleaded guilty to four felonies: eluding police, battery with use of a deadly weapon, assault with use of a deadly weapon, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

She was sentenced to between 24 and 60 months in prison. She is currently on probation. She was also arrested on December 13, 2023, for violating her probation, according to Daily Mail.
