Jeremy Renner praises daughter Ava for pulling him through 'darkest times' on her 12th birthday

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jeremy Renner celebrated his daughter Ava's 12th birthday with a heartfelt tribute.
Renner, 54, marked the ocassion by sharing a rare black-and-white throwback photo of Ava as a baby on Instagram, along with a touching message.

Jeremy Renner recollected on how his daughter has been a source of strength for him, especially during his recovery from near fatal snowplow accident in 2023.
In his Instagram caption, Renner expressed his deep love for Ava.
"At 12:12 you turned 12, Twelve year’s ago My life forever changed - filled with a powerful godly love, a purposed life, full of a joy indescribable with words," Renner wrote.
He continued, ".. I honor my daughter Ava for her excellence, her kindness, strength and fortitude."
The 'Mayor of Kingstown' star further wrote, "Though you have blossomed into a beautiful 12-year-old today, you’ll always be my little bug."
"Thank you for waiting for me and pulling me through my darkest times. You’ll always be my everything, my only thing, my number one! #bestpartofme," he concluded the post.

Jeremy Renner opens up on 'role reversal' during his recovery
In an August interview with Parents, Jeremy Renner spoke about how his near-fatal snowplow accident in January 2023 led to a shift in his relationship with Ava.

"I became the kid for the first six months. My daughter had to take care of me," Renner said, adding, "There was something quite beautiful in that role reversal."
"She had to grow up in a lot of ways. I overcame a lot of obstacles and got to show my daughter what resilience means by going through this journey with me," Renner shared.
The actor suffered severe injuries after being run over by a 14,300-lb snowplow while helping a family member with a stuck vehicle.
The accident left him with 38 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and chest trauma.

Jeremy Renner, in the same interview, shared how his love for Ava has grown even stronger as she becomes more independent.
"I really understand my place as her father. It is my duty to teach her how to love, how to be strong, how to overcome. Leading by example has always been important to me. That’s only amplified," he told the publication.
"My love is deeper, my conversations with my daughter are more adult. I now struggle to find the fun, goofy dad version that I was when she was 4 or 8," he added.
"I have a harder time with that because I’ve been through some physical struggles. I just struggle to find the energy to be the jungle gym dad. But she’s 11. Maybe I don’t need to," he said.
