MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Jesse Watters reportedly declared Donald Trump a “victim” in the hush-money trial as he spoke about Michael Cohen’s admission of stealing money from the Trump Organization.

The case is about multiple forgery accusations the former leader faces as he allegedly paid $130,000 to former porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to hide an alleged affair.

Jesse Watters labels Michael Cohen as a ‘thief’

The political commentator said on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’, as reported by Fox News Digital, “It only took 19 days, but we finally have a crime in the Trump trial. Michael Cohen, not only a liar – today we found out he's a thief.”

He further noted that Cohen, who worked as an attorney for the ex-leader from 2006 to 2018 and was also vice president of the Trump Organization, “confessed to larceny, admitting he stole $60,000 from his old boss,” during his cross-examination.

Insisting on his point, Watters stated, “Trump's in a conspiracy with a guy stealing his money. Trump just became a victim. That's how the jury sees it.”

“Michael Cohen falsified invoices to the Trump Organization, stiffed contractors, pocketed the difference, and paid the contractors 20 grand in cash in a brown paper bag,” the TV host added.

Michael Cohen says he stole thousands of dollars from Trump

This came after on Monday, May 20, Cohen reportedly admitted he stole $30,000 from his former employer.

Trump may be forced to sell off his properties after Justice Arthur Engoron canceled his business certificates and ruled that he committed fraud for years while building his real estate empire after being sued by Attorney General Letitia James, seeking $250 million in damages. He also revealed the reason behind the embezzlement. He added, “I was angered because of the reduction in the bonus, and so I just felt like it was self-help.”

After Cohen’s testimony, Trump’s second son Eric shared online, “This just got interesting: Michael Cohen is now admitting to stealing money from our company.”

Besides, Kash Patel, an official under Trump’s administration, added, “We also have a victim. That victim is Donald J Trump.”

Internet calls Trump ‘guilty’ regardless

Meanwhile, Watters’ “victim” remark has attracted some attention online with a Facebook user commenting, “How much is Jesse Watters getting paid for his mumble jumble talk?”

Meanwhile, another commented on the Fox News website, "Trump isn’t The Victim. He’s just a player who got played."

Someone else sarcastically wrote on X, “Trump, victim.?? 🤣🤣🤣😂”

An individual quipped, “Trump? The victim? For paying hush money to cover up his affairs? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”

“Only in Jesse's World will this happen. Back on the planet Earth, Trump is guilty because of a heaping mound of documents and witness testimony,” yet another comment read.

A tweet read, “Er JesseB, since you have ducked any jury duty, your statement makes no sense in this case. Now who will demand the DA to bring charges for larceny against Michael Cohen?  Donnie? Eric?  Ivanka?”
