LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are “living separately” as they navigate a “painful” situation in their marriage.
The 44-year-old singer and actress tied the knot with the retired NFL star, 45, in 2014, and since then they welcomed three children together - daughters Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, 12, and Birdie Mae, five, and son Ace Knute, 11.
However, after months of speculations, Simpson has finally revealed that there is indeed trouble in the couple’s paradise.

Speaking to People, Jessica Simpson revealed, "Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.”

The ‘Blonde Ambition’ star’s statement came just a few days after she posted a selfie on Instagram, adding a cryptic message, "Life is short. SMILE while you still have teeth😜."

Rumors of the couple’s marital strife had been swirling ever since she was last spotted with her wedding ring in 2023.
Simpson, who often shared moments of her life with her husband and family on Instagram, last posted a picture of Johnson during the family’s Easter celebration last year.

Speculations about problems in Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson's marriage gained traction in November 2024, when Johnson was also seen without his wedding ring. Moreover, around the same time, the songstress shared a poignant post on her Instagram, hinting at her “comeback” to music.
Posting a series of glamorous pictures of herself, the ‘Irresistible’ singer wrote, "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic," before adding, "This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."

Previously, she also failed to wish Johnson on his birthday on September 10, igniting the speculations, reported Daily Mail.
As reports of their marital tension started to surface, a source shared with Life & Style, “Jessica feels like their marriage has lost its romance.”
“Everyone's wondering how long they can go on like this," added the insider.
They further mentioned the couple’s separate living arrangements as Simpson was living in Nashville making new music while Johnson stayed in Los Angeles.
"Eric has been doing his own thing for longer than anyone seems to know. He's been very vocal about how difficult it is to live with someone so obsessed with surgery and so detached from reality most of the time,” shared the source with the outlet.
