Jessica Simpson ‘is heartbroken’ that she is ‘living separately’ from Eric Johnson amid divorce rumors

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are “living separately right now,” and have allegedly been trying to find out how to work out the split arrangement. 

It was rumored that the 44-year-old singer and Johnson have split after they were spotted without their wedding rings multiple times over the last few months. 

More recently, Simpson hinted at a possible separation when she made a cryptic post earlier in the week. However, sources close to the couple, who tied the knot in 2014, recently gave updates on their relationship.

An insider recently told Us Weekly that the ‘Blonde Ambition’ star and her former NFL star husband are “living separately right now.” 

Another source stated that the couple, who have three children together, are “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible,” while noting that the ‘Sweetest Sin’ songstress and Johnson are “still figuring things out.”

Moreover, a third source added, “Jessica is heartbroken,” explaining the separation was “an incredibly difficult time” for the singer. They further noted, “[It was] not an easy decision for her.”

Simpson and Johnson moved in together in 2010 before getting engaged six months later. In May 2012, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Maxwell, and expanded their family with son Ace in June 2013. 

The couple tied the knot in July 2014 before welcoming their daughter Birdie in March 2019. 

Recently, there have been rumors in Tinsel Town that the singer has split from her husband. A few insiders even revealed to TMZ that some of Simpson's friends have reached out to Los Angeles-based divorce lawyers. Simpson is, however, yet to meet the lawyers. 

According to Perez Hilton, moreover, another source revealed to ET that Johnson's "overly flirtatious" behavior at parties might have paved the way for discontent in their marriage. 

“[There have been] rumors and rumblings about Eric being overly flirtatious during their relationship — especially when he drinks," shared the source. 

Jessica Simpson made a cryptic post about 'singular magic'

The 'Irresistible' singer recently made a post on Instagram celebrating "singular magic." Sharing a carousel of her pictures, Simpson wrote, "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic."

The songstress added, "This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤."

Simspon, who used to give updates on her life with Johnson on Instagram, made her last post with her spouse in April 2024.
